The Boston Celtics had a disappointing end to the 2022-23 NBA season as they failed to make a return to the NBA Finals. Boston was upset by the Miami Heat, and they appeared to choke a bit in that series.
The Celtics were a betting favorite to win the title a season ago, and they are going to find themselves in that position again this season based on talent alone. Smart Out, Brown Back In
The Boston Celtics have been in the playoffs for nine straight seasons, but they have always fallen short when it matters most. Marcus Smart has proven to be a big piece of the puzzle during that run, but he was also a player that sometimes came with plenty of drama.
Boston agreed to move on from Smart at the end of the 2022-23 season as they shipped him to the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team deal. In return, the Celtics were able to acquire Kristaps Porzingis from the Washington Wizards in what should lead to a ton of wins for the upcoming season.
The Celtics also had a decision to make on Jaylen Brown, and he has established himself as an absolute star in this league. There were some rumors that Brown was going to be leaving the team, but Boston was able to lock him up in a deal that was worth $304 million.
There were some other smaller moves made by Boston this offseason, including parting ways with Grant Williams. President of Basketball Operations, Brad Stevens, vowed to try and make some changes to the roster in order to give his team a chance to win another title, and he went out and did just that.

At some point, the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is going to get it done on the biggest stage, and it feels like this is going to be the year. Tatum and Brown can both take over a game and series, and that will be a huge key this season.
