When the latest round of conference realignment started, it became pretty clear that there were going to be some conferences that suffered major consequences. At first, it looked as if it would be the mid-major leagues that were going to see the most trouble, but that’s no longer the case.

The Big Ten Conference and the Big-12 Conference have been extremely aggressive over the past few weeks, and it’s going to cause one Power 5 Conference to completely fold. Teams are bailing on the Pac-12 in a hurry, and the “Conference of Champions” are only going to have one more season of college football to be played.

Pac-12 In Shambles

The Pac-12 Conference first lost USC and UCLA to the Big Ten Conference in a move that was announced months ago, but the league still believed it could handle those defections.

Leaders of the Pac-12 were still looking to add new teams, and they were also in the middle of negotiating a new television deal to guarantee some revenue.

After it appeared that the league was not going to be able to secure a television rights deal that was significant, other schools started to look outside of the conference as well. Oregon and Washington quickly jumped ship to the Big Ten as well, and Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah are headed to the Big 12 Conference.

There are only a few schools remaining in what was the Pac-12, and this will end up being the final year that the league is playing major college football. Here is a look at the future betting odds and the team that will win the league.

A Couple of Favorites

The Pac-12 Conference has really struggled to compete on a national level, and getting just one team to the College Football Playoff is going to be the goal in the final year. That’s part of the reason that some schools are leaving as well, as they want to be able to win some championships.

When looking at the betting odds to win the Pac-12 in the final season, there are a handful of teams that have emerged as the betting favorites. Those schools include:

  • USC +200
  • Washington +265
  • Oregon +325
  • Utah +625

USC and Washington are the two teams expected to battle it out for the Pac-12 Championship, but Oregon and Utah should be in the mix as well. All four of those teams have been great over the last few seasons, and it’s no surprise to see them have the best overall odds.

This is a league that does appear to always be competitive, though, and there might be some surprises. With that in mind, here is a look at the rest of the odds for the other teams in the league:

  • UCLA +750
  • Oregon State +1200
  • Washington State +4500
  • Colorado +5000
  • Arizona +7500
  • California +8000
  • Arizona State +15000
  • Stanford +15000

You could include UCLA in the list of betting favorites, but the odds tend to drop off in a big way after the Bruins. Arizona State and Stanford are expected to really struggle this season, and then there are a few schools in the middle that will be looking to make a surprise run up the standings.

USC Gets It Done

With apologies to the rest of the teams in the Pac-12 Conference, it will be the USC Trojans that are the class of the league this season. USC has the best quarterback in the country in Caleb Williams, and that offense is going to be hard to stop.

Bet the USC Trojans at +200 to win the Pac-12 Conference in the final year of existence for the league.
