Former UFC interim heavyweight champion and two-time undisputed challenger Ciryl Gane is back headlining his home country’s event, and this time, he’s gatekeeping a title shot from rising contender Sergey Spivak.

Since MMA was legalized in Paris, the first event last year was one of the most memorable moments of the year in the UFC. Watch from home, enjoy the rowdy crowd, and bet on the great slate of fights on Saturday.

Let’s take a closer look at the main event and other key fights to bet on to really bang the book this weekend.

Main Event – Gane vs. Spivak

In the main event, we are going to see how Gane does against his biggest weakness in the sport of MMA–wrestling. Spivak is an elite MMA wrestler with tons of strength and relentless pressure.

Gane will have the support behind him and good vibes all week, but Spivak is coming in as the hungry contender who is willing to do anything for this first title shot. Spivak has shown that he also has the power to KO anybody in the division with one clean shot landed.

The key to this matchup will be how the first round plays out. If Gane can stuff takedowns while they are still fresh and their skin is dry, it makes this fight a lot more interesting. Gane is an incredible athlete with elite footwork and distance control. The fact is, there might not be a single heavyweight that will be able to beat Gane in a kickboxing fight.

Spivak will need to close the distance and get his hands on Gane as soon as possible. The leg kicks from Gane can accumulate some serious damage in a short amount of time with the power behind those techniques.

With how the odds are looking right now during fight week, it would be dumb to not bet on Spivak as the +155 underdog. There’s too much talk around Gane saying that he isn’t committed. Spivak is a killer who is giving his life to become a world champion.

Other Key Fight Picks

Other than the heavyweights in the main event, we have a few interesting matchups to bet on. In the co-main, the rising French contender Manon Fiorot is welcoming former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas to the flyweight division.

Namajunas is going to have a tough time with the bigger and stronger Fiorot and her elite striking. Fiorot’s wrestling skills are improving every time she steps into the octagon as well. This is a good chance to take Fiorot by decision for a nice payout.

In the featured bout, French rising contender Benoit Saint-Denis is looking to beat the tough Thiago Moises. This might be a card where it’s tough to bet against any of the French fighters because of the atmosphere, but this is a tough matchup.

Go with Thiago Moises as a key underdog pick on your betting slate. He is going to be able to mix up his offense more and win this fight with his output.
