Mackenzie Dern vs. Yan Xiaonan

Odds To BAS: Dern -240

Mackenzie Dern is a favorite over Yan Xiaonan in the main event of the evening. Dern was able to get the better of her last opponent, Tecia Torres, back in April in order to improve up to a 12-2. She’s been money in the bank of late as she’s won five out of her las six matchups coming into this event.

As for Yan, she had won six straight fights since signing on with the UFC.  That was part of a stretch where she had gone 12-0-1 in 13 fights. However, she’s fallen on hard times and is riding a two-fight losing streak now. She was knocked out by Carla Esparza, who is the current strawweight champ, and then dropped a split decision to Marina Rodriguez.

Dern seems like she’s on course for a title shot and she’s pretty confident she’ll submit Yan. She’s the more accomplished fighter here and should take care of business.

Pick: Dern

Randy Brown vs. Francisco Trinaldo

Odds To BAS: Brown -305

Randy Brown is heading down to Las Vegas to take on Francisco Trinaldo in a battle of two welterweight talents. Brown has accumulated a 5-1 record over the last six fights he’s been involved in, winning three straights. Only Vicente Luque has been able to get the better of him in that stretch with Brown taking down a few great talents such as Alex Oliveira and Bryan Barberena.

On the other hand, Trinaldo is a 44-year-old Brazilian fighter that continues to prove the doubters wrong He’s been able to win five out of his last six fights despite many feelings like he’s in the twilight of his career. Very few fights at this age continue to thrive.

It feels like Trinaldo’s hot streak comes to an end here. Brown won’t look past him and should come up away with the victory.

Pick: Brown

Sodiq Yusuff vs.  Don Shainis

Odds To BAS: Yusuff -1000

Sodiq Yusuff is squaring off with Don Shainis here and he’s the biggest favorite on the card. Yusuff has only fought once in 2022 leading up to this matchup and is stepping in very late to take on Shainis here. Yusuff had missed his previous fight against Giga Chikadze on September 17th due to an injury, but this matchup opened up for him and he didn’t refuse the opportunity.

He was able to get a win over Alex Cacares back in March and is expected to cruise here. One of the main reasons is because Shainis is making his UFC debut here. While he’s 12-3 in his MMA career, this is a big step up in competition for him. Yusuff has won five of six and should make it six of seven after this.

Pick: Yusuff
