UFC 295 is coming this weekend from Madison Square Garden and has a great card full of awesome fights. The biggest fight of them all will be in the main event between former UFC champions Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title.

Let’s discuss how this main event bout will go down, and give the best bets to bang the book this weekend during UFC 295.

Main Event – Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira

What a matchup. Two guys who made a name for themselves outside of the UFC, then got signed and then were fast-tracked to world title fights while proving they belong.

Prochazka has a very unique style of fighting inside the cage, and even more unique outside of the cage–literally living like a modern-day Samurai. Pereira is a Glory Kickboxing Hall of Famer who has the most power in a check-left hook that we might have ever seen.

It’s a perfect battle between a free-flowing martial artist and a very technical, calculated striker. With the size and power these guys have, this fight could end at any second after the opening glove touch.

The key to this fight will be the experience that Prochazka has over Pereira in MMA. Prochazka has fought all over the world against the best in MMA and has over 30 fights. He’s been in wars, fought through injuries, fought through getting stung by heavy shots, and found himself in very tough positions in the octagon.

Pereira has proven he belongs as a championship-level fighter at both middleweight and light heavyweight, but it’s too hard to bet against Prochazka in this one. The dynamic striking and all-around game from him is too much.

Yes, Pereira could end this fight at any moment when Prochazka gets careless in range. But the best bet to make is for Prochazka to win at +105 odds–which is basically a steal to get someone as good as him at that money line.

Other Key Fight Picks

Outside of the main event, we have an awesome co-main title fight and other great matchups.

Starting in the co-main, we are taking Tom Aspinall to follow in his good friend Michael Bisping’s steps and winning a title fight on two weeks’ notice. The speed and ability of this kid is special and the world is going to be able to see it on display against the most dangerous man in the UFC, Sergei Pavlovich. Take Aspinall to win inside the distance at -115.

Another pick to make on the main card is Diego Lopes over Pat Sabatini in the opening fight of the PPV portion of the card. Lopes is one of the most exciting young fighters on the roster and he is much more all-around than the grappling-heavy Sabatini. With that being said, we think Lopes will finish this fight on the ground as well. Lopes at -120 is a steal.

The other two main card fights are very interesting. We have a women’s strawweight bout between former champion Jessica Andrade and fan-favorite Mackenzie Dern. Dern matches up pretty well with Andrade, but it will be a tough fight if Andrade shows up ready to go from the start. Take this fight going the distance at +170.

To round up the main card, this Frevola vs. Saint-Denis fight is awesome. Two tough, military guys with a lot of upside facing off in the biggest fight of their lives up to this point. Frevola is easy to love and he’s been really figuring out his style and is entering his prime, but it’s tough to count out someone who has seen actual war.

We are taking Saint-Denis to win inside the distance at -130 at BetDSI\ to close out the main card picks for UFC 295.
