The 2022 NBA Playoffs continue Saturday, May 7, with Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinal series between Memphis and Golden State at Chase Center in San Francisco, so we bring you the best Grizzlies vs. Warriors betting pick and odds.

The Grizzlies and Warriors are tied at 1-1 after a couple of games at FedExForum in Memphis. Golden State open as a firm 7-point favorite for Saturday night’s Game 3, while the totals are listed at 226.5 points on MyBookie Sportsbook.

The Grizzlies upset the odds in Game 2, Morant scored 47

After a tough 117-116 defeat in the opening contest of this series, the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Warriors 106-101 as 2-point underdogs in Game 2 this past Wednesday. Ja Morant went off for 47 points on 15-for-31 shooting from the field and 12-for-13 from the charity stripe, while Ziaire Williams 14 points and five rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench.

The Grizzlies shot only 39.6% from the field and 31.1% from downtown in Game 2.  They handed out only 17 assists, but Ja Morant was completely unstoppable down the stretch, scoring the last 15 points for his team.

Dillon Brooks will miss Game 3 due to a suspension. He got ejected after just three minutes of play in Game 2, so Ziaire Williams should get another chance to contribute off the bench. Desmond Bane had only five points last Wednesday, while Jaren Jackson Jr. accounted for 12 points on a poor 3-for-14 shooting from the field.

The Warriors blew a huge chance in Game 2

The Golden State Warriors had an awful shooting night last Wednesday. They made 42.1% of their field goals and only 18.4% of their 3-pointers (7-for-38). Klay Thompson went 2-for-12 from beyond the arc, Steph Curry was 3-for-11, while Jordan Poole made one of his six attempts from downtown.

The Dubs outscored the Grizzlies in the paint 60-42. They also dished out ten assists more than Memphis (27-17), but the Warriors’ poor shooting and lousy defense down the stretch cost them a victory. Curry finished with 27 points, Poole added 20 points off the bench, while Andrew Wiggins had 16 points and nine rebounds.

Gary Payton II suffered an elbow injury after just three minutes of play on Wednesday. Dillon Brooks, who committed a flagrant 2 foul on Payton, will sit out Game 3, while Gary will miss the rest of the series. Payton has been a huge part of the Warriors’ defense so far this postseason.

Trends:

Memphis:

  • 5-2 ATS in the last seven games overall
  • 8-0 ATS in the last eight games against the Pacific Division

Golden State:

  • 1-6 ATS in the last seven games against Memphis
  • 1-4 ATS in the last five games overall

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Pick

With Gary Payton II on the shelf, the Warriors will have a tall task to slow down Ja Morant. Golden State is doing a great job on any other Grizzly, but Morant has tortured the Warriors’ D through the previous two contests.

On the other side, the Grizzlies are playing tough defense as well. Both teams can switch almost everything on the defensive end, so I’m expecting to see another hard-fought battle between the Grizzlies and Warriors. With seven points on the table, give me the underdogs to cover.

Pick: Take Memphis Grizzlies +7.0 at -110

The Total:

Memphis and Golden State have averaged 102.5 possessions per 48 minutes through the previous two games. The Grizzlies love to push the ball in transition and play at a fast pace, so we could easily see a high-scoring affair Saturday at Chase Center.

I’m expecting both teams to shoot the ball better than they did last Wednesday. If they find a way to execute their offense at a higher level, the Grizzlies and Warriors should surpass a 226.5-point line.

Pick: Go over 226.5 points at -110
