The MLB betting action continues Wednesday, June 29, 2022, with the closing contest of a three-game NL West series at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, so we bring you the best Dodgers vs. Rockies betting pick and odds.

According to BetOnline Sportsbook, the Dodgers are -179 road favorites, while the Rockies are listed as +165 moneyline dogs with a total of 11.0 runs.

The Dodgers got blanked in Monday’s opener

The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a 4-0 defeat in the opening clash of this series last Monday. Tuesday night’s middle game has been excluded from the analysis, and the 45-27 Dodgers were looking to snap their three-game skid at Coors Field. They’ve lost three straight to the Rockies since a 5-3 victory on Opening Day.

Julio Urias will take the mound Wednesday and meet Colorado for the second time this season. He was shelled for six runs (three earned) across two innings of work in a 9-4 defeat at Coors Field on April 10. The 25-year-old lefty is 2-2 with a pedestrian 5.91 ERA in eight starts and two relief appearances in Denver.

In spite of a few rough outings, Urias holds a sharp 2.48 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 14 starts and 76.1 frames of work in 2022 (5-6 record). He’s allowed just five runs (four earned) over his first four appearances in June.

The Rockies snapped their two-game skid behind Chad Kuhl’s gem

Chad Kuhl threw a three-hit shutout this past Monday, and the Colorado Rockies avoided a three-game losing streak with another surprising victory over the Dodgers. They had 11 hits on the night and scored all four runs off Tyler Anderson. The Rockies improved to 32-42 on the season, still sitting bottom of the NL West.

German Marquez will toe the rubber Wednesday, looking for his fourth win in June. The 27-year-old righty has gone 3-0 with a 4.40 ERA and 5.38 FIP through his previous five starts and 30.2 innings of work.

Marquez issued five walks in his last outing but kept the Minnesota Twins scoreless through 7.2 innings. He scattered just three hits but also fanned only two. German is 4-5 with a pedestrian 5.58 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 14 starts (80.2 innings) this season.

Trends:

LA Dodgers:

  • 8-4 in the last 12 games overall
  • 13-7 in the last 20 road games against Colorado

Colorado:

  • 2-5 in the last seven games overall

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies Pick

The Rockies are unbeaten in German Marquez’s last five starts and given the right-hander’s form, that streak will have to come to end sooner rather than later. Marquez tossed seven frames of a one-run ball against the Dodgers in the opening week. Since then, he’s been a disaster, and the Dodgers will destroy him if he continues to struggle with control. German has issued three or more free passes in four of his last six starts.

On the other side, Julio Urias will have a tall task, too. The current Rockies have 41 hits and .808 OPS in 132 at-bats against him. I lean on the Dodgers’ bullpen to make the difference, while their offense should be highly motivated following Monday’s fiasco.

Pick: Take Los Angeles Dodgers at -179

The Total:

The starting duo should allow a few runs early, so I lean toward the over on the totals. It’s a tough wager because of the Dodgers’ bullpen, which holds a firm 2.78 ERA and 2.54 FIP in the last ten days and 32.1 frames of work. On the other side, the Rockies’ bullpen has registered a 4.56 ERA and 4.57 FIP across 23.2 innings in the last ten days.

In the last couple of weeks, the Rockies have slashed an excellent .276/.341/.450, while the Dodgers have posted a solid .264/.323/.436 triple-slash.

Pick: Go over 11.0 runs at -120
