The college hoops betting action goes on Monday, February 14, with the Big East Conference battle from CHI Health Center Omaha, so we have prepared the best Georgetown vs. Creighton betting pick along with the latest odds update on MyBookie Sportsbook.

The Hoyas meet the Bluejays for the second time this season. Just a couple of days ago, Creighton comfortably defeated Georgetown 80-66 as a 4.5-point road favorite. The Bluejays have won eight of their previous 11 games against the Hoyas.

Georgetown’s free fall continues

The Georgetown Hoyas fell to 6-17 straight up and 8-14-1 ATS on the season following that heavy home loss to the Bluejays. It was their 13th consecutive defeat, as the 0-12 Hoyas remained the worst team in the Big East Conference.

Georgetown made only 36.6% of its field goals and 25.0% of its triples against Creighton. The Hoyas trailed the Bluejays by double digits for most of the second half. Senior guard Donald Carey led the way with 16 points and seven rebounds, while freshman G Aminu Mohammed added 11 points and four boards.

The Hoyas continue to struggle on the defensive end. They surrender 106.5 points per 100 possessions (256th in the nation) on 45.4% shooting from the field (302nd), and the Hoyas love to play at a fast pace. Georgetown is No. 217 in the latest NCAA NET Rankings and No. 212 in the KenPom rankings.

Creighton shoots for its third straight W

The Creighton Bluejays (15-8, 11-12 ATS) improved to 7-5 in the conference play following that easy win at Georgetown. It was their second victory in a row and third over their previous four contests overall, and the Bluejays are tied with UConn for the No. 3 seed at the moment.

Creighton dominated Georgetown on both sides of the ball last Saturday. The Bluejays shot 47.6% from the field and 38.7% from downtown, handing out a whopping 26 assists in the process. Senior forward Ryan Hawkins dropped 30 points on the Hoyas to go with 12 rebounds and six assists, while sophomore big man Ryan Kalkbrenner posted a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds.

The Bluejays are No. 71 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 70 in the KenPom rankings. They score 104.5 points per 100 possessions (131st in the country) and surrender only 93.6 in a return (29th). Creighton’s D ranks 20th in the nation in field goal percentage (39.2%) and 13th in free-throw attempts per game (12.8).

Trends:

Georgetown:

  • 0-4-1 ATS in the last five games overall
  • 2-5 ATS in the last seven games on the road

Creighton:

  • 12-5 ATS in the last 17 games played on Monday
  • 10-4-1 ATS in the last 15 games against Georgetown

Georgetown vs. Creighton Pick

We can only hope the Bluejays won’t underestimate the Hoyas only two days after beating them by 14 points on their home court. Georgetown desperately needs to break out of its funk, but the Hoyas shouldn’t stand a chance of upsetting the odds against this Creighton team.

The Bluejays will look to force Georgetown into half-court basketball and make them take tough shots. On the offensive side of things, Creighton will continue to share the ball in a matchup with one of the worst defensive teams in the country.

Pick: Take Creighton -12.0 at -110

The Total:

The Hoyas register 70.7 possessions per 40 minutes (37th in the country), and the over is 6-3 in their last nine games overall. The Bluejays, on the other side, record 66.6 possessions per 40 minutes (205th), and the under is 4-1 in their previous five outings at any location.

Six of the last nine meetings between Georgetown and Creighton have gone over the total, including the previous one, so I would ride this betting trend. The Hoyas’ defense has been terrible all season, and the Bluejays won’t mind speeding up things in this matchup. Georgetown has allowed 80 or more points in eight of its last 11 contests.

Pick: Go over 139.5 points at -110
