Main Event – Vicente Luque vs. Rafael Dos Anjos

This main event bout is an instant classic in the making. Vicente Luque is set to meet his Brazilian brother in combat, Rafael Dos Anjos, on Saturday night. These two welterweights are the perfect combination of perfect technique and violence.

Luque is at arguably the lowest point of his career, coming off of two losses and a brutal beating a year ago at the hands of Geoff Neal. Will he be able to bounce back mentally after being finished by KO for the first time in his career?

Dos Anjos is a crafty, technical 38-year-old former lightweight champion that is still fighting at a high level. Coming off of wins over Renato Moicano and Bryan Barberena proves that he still fights at a high level. His most recent loss was to Rafael Fiziev, a fight where Dos Anjos was in a position to potentially win in the 5th round.

Making a pick for this fight is very difficult. Luque is an absolute killer and is dangerous in many different situations of a fight. Dos Anjos has experience against literally the best fighters to ever step foot in the octagon, but will his age and size catch up to him against a top welterweight?

The official prediction for the main event is Luque getting a much-needed finish over Dos Anjos. This was very tough to arrive at because of the wrestling ability Dos Anjos has, but there’s plenty of reason to believe that Luque can get Dos Anjos against the cage and start teeing off.

That position where Dos Anjos is kind of stuck against the cage covering up could lead to a KO from Luque or even a desperation takedown attempt by Dos Anjos, leading to Luque locking up one of his dangerous front headlock chokes. You can take Luque at -105 at BetOnline right now.

Other Key Fights

Outside of the main event, there are plenty of interesting matchups throughout this card. On the prelims, you get to see a quick turnaround for Terrance McKinney after suffering a submission loss less than a month ago.

This is a big one for McKinney, but he has a favorable matchup, and taking him to win by submission at +160 is the bet to make.

After that exciting lightweight matchup, you can see a potential bantamweight contender in the making, with Marcus McGhee making his second appearance in the UFC octagon. After winning his debut on short notice by submission, McGhee is back with another very favorable matchup against JP Buys.

McGhee is very skilled and trains with one of the best teams in the world for bantamweights at the MMA Lab in Arizona. After seeing how that place functions and how McGhee trains with the talent he is around, this is an easy pick to make. You can even get McGhee by TKO/KO at -145 at BetOnline.

The last fight to make a pick for is the light heavyweight bout between Rountree and Daukaus. Rountree is welcoming Daukaus to the division, and it’s a tough matchup for Dauksus. After cutting weight and finally taking his nutrition seriously, you’d think Daukaus would be in a great spot.

But the size and speed of Rountree will still cause problems for Daukaus, and the longshot odds of Rountree winning a decision at +900 is your chance to cash out big time.
