Covington, Edwards Will Be a Battle

The welterweight title is going to be on the line on Saturday night in what will be the final UFC battle of 2023. Leon Edwards is the current title holder in the welterweight division and he is the betting favorite to retain his title at -155.

Colby Covington is going to provide some tough competition in this battle though, and you can bet on him at +135 to take over the title to end the year. The over/under for this fight is set at 4 ½ total rounds and you should expect it to go the distance.

Covington has nothing to lose in this battle, and that is going to create some intense drama for this battle on Saturday night. Edwards just always seems to come up with enough points to win these fights, and that will be his strategy yet again.

Bet on Leon Edwards to pick up another win on Saturday night to retain his belt, and the betting odds are set at -155.

Flyweight Title as Co-Main Event

The welterweight title won’t be the only one handed out on Saturday night as there will also be a title event in the flyweight division. It will be Alexandre Pantoja vs. Brandon Royval in the co-main event, and the odds for this matchup are pretty tight as well.

Pantoja is the current betting favorite to win this fight at -190, while Royval comes into this bout with odds set at +160 (at BetDSI). Pantoja hasn’t been the title holder for a long time as he took over the belt at International Fight Week at UFC 290.

This just seems like a fight that is going to end pretty quickly, and there is pressure on Royval to get things done in a hurry. This is going to be a great opportunity to pick on an upset winner on Saturday night as Pantoja is not a proven champion.

Take the value in the odds and bet on Brandon Royval at +160 as he will end 2023 as the champion in the flyweight division.

Other Bets to Make

It’s easy to get consumed with the two main event fights set to take place at UFC 296, but you don’t want to stop there if you are going to make some bets. Looking at the betting odds for the other fights are more important than just trying to check out the biggest names that are available.

Lucas Almeida is set to battle it out with Andre Fili in an interesting battle, and the betting odds for that one are tight. Fili is the betting favorite in this bout at -170, but Almeida looks like the best fighter in this matchup, and he will win this fight at +145.

Another great bout to check out is a fight on the prelim card as Shamil Gaziev is taking on Martin Buday. Gaziev is listed at +115 in this battle, but it’s going to be Martin Buday that wins this fight at -135 on Saturday night.
