Another exciting conference clash will be played in Week 7 on Saturday, October 15, and this ACC tilt is quite attractive, so feel free to check out the best Wolfpack vs. Orange betting pick and odds.

Syracuse is looking to keep the perfect record intact when they welcome NC State at JMA Wireless Dome. The Orange are -3.5 favorites on BookMaker Sportsbook, while the total is set at 44 points. These conference foes have met once in 2021, and the Wolfpack won that game 41-17 in Raleigh, NC.

Wolfpack edged the Seminoles at home

The NC State Wolfpack (5-1, 2-4 ATS) opened the season with four consecutive wins, after which they suffered the first defeat of the season to the Clemson Tigers on the road. However, North Carolina State responded with a narrow 19-17 home win over the Florida State Seminoles, even though they were losing 17-3 at halftime. The hosts scored 16 points in the second half and allowed none to claim a tight victory.

Devin Leary completed ten of 21 passes for 130 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Darryl Jones caught that lone TD pass, while Jordan Houston led the team in receiving yards with 41 on two receptions. Jordan Houston was good on the ground with 90 yards on 24 carries. NC State had three individuals with 10+ tackles: Drake Thomas, Isaiah Moore, and Payton Wilson.

QB Devin Leary exited the last game due to an upper-body injury, and it is uncertain if he will take on Syracuse on Saturday.

Orange dismantled the Seahawks at home

The Syracuse Orange (5-0, 4-1 ATS) maintained the unbeaten record with the third straight home win as they destroyed the Wagner Seahawks 59-0. It was a season-high 59 points and season-low zero allowed for the Orange, who totaled 631 yards opposite Wagner’s 50! The hosts also dominated first downs (26-4). Syracuse scored 49 points in the first half and then slowed down a bit in the second half.

Garrett Shrader was perfect as he completed 17 of 17 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns. He also had one rushing TD. Devaughn Cooper and Umari Hatcher scored receiving touchdowns for the Orange, while Oronde Gadsden II led all the receivers with 66 yards on four catches. Syracuse was monstrous on the ground as they collected 388 yards and five touchdowns. Sean Tucker dominated with 232 yards and three TDs on 23 carries, while LeQuint Allen added 112 yards and a touchdown on four attempts. Leon Lowery was the best on defense with seven tackles.

Trends:

North Carolina State:

  • 2-5 ATS in the last seven games overall
  • 1-4 ATS in the last five road games
  • 1-4 ATS in the last five conference games

Syracuse:

  • 4-1 ATS in the last five games overall
  • 8-2 ATS in the last ten home games
  • 8-2 ATS in the last ten games following an ATS win

North Carolina State Wolfpack vs. Syracuse Orange Pick

Syracuse is better than NC State when it comes to both offense and defense. The Orange is averaging 38.4 ppg, which is a top 40 offense in the country opposite NC State’s 30.5 ppg. On defense, Syracuse allows 14.0 ppg, while the Wolfpack is allowing 15.7 ppg. Sean Tucker, who already has 546 rushing yards with five touchdowns this season, will lead the Orange offense in this one, and considering that Syracuse has a top 40 run offense that averages 190.4 ypg, I think the hosts will control this tilt.

Pick: Take the Orange at -2.5 (-135)

The Total

Both teams are scoring 30+ points this season, and although I am impressed with their respective defenses so far, I do think we will see 45+ points on Saturday. Only one of the previous seven H2H duels failed to produce more than 55 points, which is one of the biggest arguments I am going with a high-scoring affair. Over is 4-1 in the Wolfpack’s last five conference games; Over is 5-1 in NC State’s previous six games following a straight-up win, while Over is 4-1 in the Orange’s last five games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game.

Pick: Go Over 43.5 points (-135)
