The Week 6 of the NFL continues with eight afternoon games on Sunday, October 16, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Jets vs. Packers betting pick and odds.

New York is looking for the third consecutive win when they visit Green Bay at Lambeau Field. The Packers are 7-point favorites on MyBookie Sportsbook, while the total is set at 45 points. These inter-conference rivals will meet for the first time since 2018.

Jets dismantled the Dolphins at home

The New York Jets (3-2, 3-2 ATS) won two games in a row, and the most recent against the divisional foes Miami Dolphins was special for many reasons. New York recorded the first win over the AFC East rivals in 13 games, while they scored a season-high 40 and allowed season-low 17 points in a 40-17 victory. The Jets forced two turnovers and didn’t commit a single one on the other end.

New York took a 2-0 lead through safety and didn’t stop for the remainder of the game despite Miami’s attempts to make a comeback when they came close to 19-17 at the end of the third quarter. However, the Jets scored 21 points and allowed none in the final 12 minutes. Zach Wilson completed 14 of 21 passes for 210 yards. Breece Hall led all the receivers with 100 yards on two receptions and added 97 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. Michael Carter, Braxton Berrios, and Zach Wilson also recorded a rushing TD apiece. Defensively, C.J. Mosley and Kwon Alexander were dominant with ten tackles each.

LB Quincy Williams (ankle) is out indefinitely, while DE Jermaine Johnson II (ankle) is questionable to play on Sunday against Green Bay.

Packers were stunned by the Giants

The Green Bay Packers (3-2, 2-3 ATS) were hoping to get their fourth win in a row when they faced the New York Giants in their first international game, but the Giants surprised them. Green Bay had a 14-point lead in the second quarter, but the Giants dominated in the second half and won that period 17-2 to claim a 27-22 victory in London, UK.

Aaron Rodgers completed 25 of 39 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Allen Lazard and Marcedes Lewis caught those TD passes, but veteran Randall Cobb was the one to lead all the receivers with 99 yards on seven receptions. Green Bay was held to below 100 rushing yards in this loss; Aaron Jones had 63 on 13 attempts. Quay Walker led all the defenders when it comes to tackles with eight.

WR Sammy Watkins is on the injured reserve list due to a hamstring injury, and there is no timetable for recovery.

Trends:

New York:

  • 3-7 ATS in the last ten games following an ATS win
  • 2-6 ATS in the last eight games following a straight-up win
  • 3-10 ATS in the last 13 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game

Green Bay:

  • 16-7 ATS in the last 23 games following an ATS loss
  • 10-4 ATS in the last 14 games vs. a team with a winning record
  • 9-3 ATS in the last 12 games in October

New York Jets vs. Green Bay Packers Pick

It’s strange seeing the Packers scoring below 20 points per game, but that’s the case so far this season. Still, the Packers’ defense is looking good as they allow 19.2 ppg, and although the Jets scored 40 in the previous game against Miami, the visitors will find it hard to score more than 20 here. I don’t remember the last time when the Jets had a better offense than the Packers, but that is happening in 2022, so Green Bay will have to rely on its defense to get a win here. Green Bay has to be disappointed after a loss to the Giants and I am backing them to respond with a win on Sunday.

Pick: Take the Packers at -6.5 (-135)

The Total

Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have top wideouts to rely on anymore, so the Packers are focusing on the run offense this season. Aaron Jones will probably run the ball often in this one, and given the Jets are allowing 114.4 rushing yards per game to the opponents, I am backing the Packers to have 100+ rushing yards here. On the other hand, Green Bay has the second-best pass defense, and the Jets are relying on a pass offense. I don’t think the visitors will be successful through the air. Under is 10-4 in the Packers’ last 14 games on grass, while Under is 4-1 in Green Bay’s previous five games following a straight-up loss.

Pick: Go Under 45.5 points (-115)
