Another divisional rivalry game is on the schedule in Week 9 of the NFL, and this NFC North duel will be played on Sunday, November 6, so make sure you check out the best Packers vs. Lions betting pick and odds.

Both Green Bay and Detroit are desperate to end their negative streaks of five and six losses, respectively, when they meet at Ford Field. The Packers are -3.5 favorites on Bovada Sportsbook, while the total is set at 49.5 points. These NFC North foes have met twice in 2021 and each time the home team got a victory.

Packers suffered the fourth loss in a row

The Green Bay Packers (3-5-0, 3-5-0 ATS) were expected to lose the game for the first time in four weeks as they faced the Buffalo Bills following three disappointing losses to the Giants, Jets, and Commanders. Green Bay did lose 27-17 in Buffalo and now must get a win in Detroit to try to salvage the season. The Packers did have more total yards and first downs than the Bills, but the hosts took an early 14-0 lead and Green bay failed to recover since.

Aaron Rodgers completed 19 of 30 passes for 203 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure combined for 99 yards and two touchdowns on five receptions (11 targets). Aaron Jones was strong on the ground with a season-high 143 yards on 20 carries, while AJ Dillon added 54 rushing yards on ten attempts. Rasul Douglas was the most active Packer on defense with six tackles.

WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is out indefinitely. LB De’Vondre Campbell (knee), WR Allen Lazard (shoulder), and G Elgton Jenkins (knee) are questionable to face Detroit on Sunday.

Lions bounced back offensively but still lost to the Dolphins

The Detroit Lions (1-6-0, 3-4-0 ATS) are the coldest team in the NFL right now after suffering the fifth consecutive loss. After scoring just six points in two losses against the Patriots and Cowboys, the Lions did score scored 27 against the Miami Dolphins at home, but still lost 31-27. The Lions had a 10-point lead entering the fourth quarter, but the visitors scored two unanswered touchdowns, the second one with just 12 seconds remaining to get a victory.

Jared Goff completed 27 of 37 passes for 321 yards and one touchdown. Jamaal Williams had 53 rushing yards and a couple of touchdowns. Detroit had three individuals with 65+ receiving yards as T.J. Hockenson, Kalif Raymond, and Amon-Ra St. Brown combined for 225 yards, but running back D’Andre Swift was the one to catch the lone TD pass from Goff. On defense, Amani Oruwariye led the team with eight tackles.

WR DJ Chark Jr. (ankle) is unavailable to play on Sunday against Green Bay. DE Charles Harris (groin), S DeShon Elliott (finger), CB Ifeatu Melifonwu (ankle), CB AJ Parker (hip), and TE Brock Wright (concussion) are questionable.

Trends:

Green Bay:

  • 10-4 ATS in the last 14 games following an ATS win
  • 8-3 ATS in the last 11 games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game

Detroit:

  • 0-4 ATS in the last four games overall
  • 8-20 ATS in the last 28 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game

Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions Pick

It’s a season-defining game for the Packers, who must get a win here if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. Detroit has by far the worst defense in the NFL which allows 32.1 points per game and has the third-weakest run defense, so I expect the Packers to utilize their RB duo Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon a lot in this duel. Jones is coming off his best game of the season, and I am sure he will continue with fine displays on Sunday. Green Bay’s offense is struggling this year, but I am backing their defense to prevail here.

Pick: Take the Packers to win at -3.5 (-110)

The Total

The Lions allowed 24+ points in every game this season, and although the Packers average 18.1 ppg, I expect the visitors to score 25+ because Detroit simply doesn’t play low-scoring games. Well, they did play two when they scored zero and six points in respective losses to New England and Dallas, but they have a top 10 offense. Over is 9-4 in the last 13 H2H meetings; Over is 5-2 in the previous seven H2H duels in Detroit, while Over is 7-2 in the Lions’ last nine games overall.

Pick: Go Over 47.5 points (-133)
