The NCAAF season continues with Week 12 on Saturday, November 19, when we have this conference tilt in North Carolina, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Yellow Jackets vs. Tar Heels betting pick and odds.

North Carolina is searching for the seventh consecutive victory when they host Georgia Tech at Kenan Stadium. The Tar Heels are 21-point favorites on BetDSI Sportsbook, while the total is set at 63.5 points. These ACC foes have met once in 2021, and the Yellow Jackets secured a massive 45-22 win at home.

Yellow Jackets returned to losing ways against Miami

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (4-6-0, 4-6-0 ATS) managed to avoid the third straight loss with a tight win against Virginia Tech, but they returned to losing ways against the Miami Hurricanes at home. Even though the Jackets were slightly better in total yards and first downs, they committed four turnovers and forced none on the other end. Miami did dominate the possession (35:46-24:14), but nonetheless, it was a disappointing display from Georgia Tech, who was a favorite in this game.

Zach Gibson completed 12 of 21 passes for 120 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Zach Pyron completed 12 of 22 passes for 114 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Pyron also led the team in rushing yards with 66 on eight carries. Nate McCollum had a strong game through the air as he posted a game-high 101 yards with a TD on eight receptions, while Jamie Felix also got a receiving touchdown. On defense, Ayinde Eley and Charlie Thomas combined for 23 tackles.

QB Zach Pyron will miss the rest of the season with a broken clavicle. QB Jeff Sims (foot) is questionable to face the Tar Heels on Saturday.

Tar Heels edged Wake Forest on the road

The North Carolina Tar Heels (9-1-0, 6-4-0 ATS) recorded the sixth consecutive victory, but the latest one is likely the sweetest because it came against the conference foes Wake Forest Demon Deacons on the road. Also, it was an important win as the Tar Heels scored a game-winning field goal with a bit over two minutes to go to secure a 36-34 W. North Carolina deserved to win as they were better in total yards (584-490) and first downs (30-22).

Drake Maye was impressive once again after completing 31 of 49 passes for 448 yards and three touchdowns. Josh Downs had a monstrous game as he caught 11 passes for game-high 154 yards and three touchdowns. Antoine Green and Bryson Nesbit combined for 144 receiving yards on nine catches, while Drake Maye and Elijah Green combined for 137 rushing yards and a pair of TDs on 37 carries. Defensively, Cedric Gray led the team with nine tackles.

WR Antoine Green was lifted from the last game due to an upper-body injury, and it is unclear if he will play against Georgia Tech on Saturday. RB Caleb Hood is also questionable to play.

Trends:

Georgia Tech:

  • 5-13 ATS in the last 18 games overall
  • 3-8 ATS in the last 11 games following an ATS loss
  • 4-9 ATS in the last 13 conference games

North Carolina:

  • 5-2 ATS in the last seven conference games

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. North Carolina Tar Heels Pick

We have one of the most exciting and highest-scoring teams in college football playing against one of the lowest-scoring teams, and only one outcome can be realistic. North Carolina has the third-best offense in the country that is averaging 40.1 points per game, and I dare to say, the best quarterback and a legit Heisman Trophy candidate in freshman Drake Maye. Nothing can stop Maye at the moment, and I am pretty sure that the Yellow Jackets, who are allowing 28.7 ppg, will do on Saturday. The Tar Heels are red-hot right now and I am backing them to extend the winning streak to seven games with a big W.

Pick: Take the Tar Heels at -19.5 (-133)

The Total

North Carolina doesn’t have a good defense, to be honest; they are allowing 31.3 ppg, but they are compensating it with a high-octane offense on the other end. Even so, I am not sure whether the Yellow Jackets are good enough to exploit that weak D and score more than their season average of 17.1 ppg. I don’t think so and therefore, I am going with Under in this one. Under is 6-2 in the Yellow Jackets’ last eight vs. a team with a winning record, while Under is 6-1 in the Tar Heels’ previous seven home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Pick: Go Under 64.5 points (-130)
