This non-conference duel is one of the NCAAF games scheduled for Saturday, November 19, and here you can take a look at the best Eagles vs. Fighting Irish betting pick and odds.

Notre Dame is hoping to secure its fifth consecutive win when they welcome Boston College at Notre Dame Stadium. The Fighting Irish are 21-point favorites on MyBookie Sportsbook, while the total is set at 45 points. These inter-conference rivals haven’t met since 2020.

Eagles upset NC State to snap a losing streak

The Boston College Eagles (3-7-0, 3-7-0 ATS) were on a four-game losing skid and everybody expected they will suffer the fifth consecutive defeat against the NC State Wolfpack on the road, but the Eagles had other plans. Despite being 18-point underdogs, the Eagles beat the Wolfpack 21-20 after coming from 14-0 and 21-7 deficits. It was a game of seven turnovers combined by Boston College and NC State; the Wolfpack committed four.

Emmett Morehead completed 29 of 48 passes for 330 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. As usual, the Eagles didn’t use their run offense, but that’s why Zay Flowers impressed with 130 yards and a couple of touchdowns on seven receptions. Jaelen Gill contributed with 79 yards on five catches, while Joseph Griffin Jr. scored a game-winning TD with just 14 seconds remaining. On defense, Marcus Valdez had two sacks, while Cole Batson led the game with nine tackles.

QB Phil Jurkovec has missed the past two games with a knee issue, and it is undetermined if he will be active Saturday versus Notre Dame.

Fighting Irish almost dropped a huge lead against Navy

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-3-0, 5-5-0 ATS) are going through the best period of the season as they recorded four straight wins. They were expected to destroy the Navy Midshipmen as the Fighting Irish were -16.5 favorites, and it started pretty well for them. Notre Dame had a 22-point lead at halftime but simply stopped playing in the second 30 minutes and failed to get on the scoreboard, allowing 19 points to the Midshipmen. Still, the Irish managed to get a 35-32 win.

Drew Pyne completed 17 of 21 passes for 269 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Jayden Thomas got three passes for game-high 80 yards and a touchdown. Braden Lenzy added 67 receiving yards and a score on five catches, while Audric Estime also found the end zone through the air. Notre Dame didn’t care about its run offense much; Audric Estime led the team with 49 rushing yards on eight carries. Xavier Watts, Jack Kiser, and Marist Liufau played well on defense with each contributing eight tackles.

QB Tyler Buchner (shoulder), is out for the season and will not play on Saturday against Boston College.

Trends:

Boston College:

  • 3-9 ATS in the last 12 games overall
  • 4-11 ATS in the last 15 non-conference games
  • 1-4 ATS in the last five road games

Notre Dame:

  • 10-3 ATS in the last 13 games following a straight-up win
  • 7-0 ATS in the last seven vs. ACC rivals

Boston College Eagles vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish Pick

Boston College did shock NC State last week, but I don’t expect to see another upset from the Eagles in this one. Notre Dame is playing well but will be more cautious with the Eagles following the last week’s relaxing second half against Navy. Head coach Marcus Freeman will not tolerate such behavior again, so I expect the Fighting Irish not to take their foot off the gas pedal this time around. The Eagles are averaging only 19.0 points per game, while the Irish have a top 40 defense that allows 22.3 ppg, and I am backing the hosts to limit the visitors to below 20 here. On the other hand, Notre Dame is scoring ten points more per game than Boston College.

Pick: Take the fighting Irish at -19.5 (-133)

The Total

Boston College did have problems on offense recently, but in the last two games, they scored 31 and 21 points against Duke and NC State, respectively. If they manage to score around 20 on Saturday, I am sure this game will be a high-scoring one. Notre Dame doesn’t have any offensive problems after scoring at least 35 points in each of the previous four games. Over is 4-0 in the Fighting Irish’s last four games overall; Over is 6-2 in Notre Dame’s previous eight vs. ACC rivals, while Over is 4-0 in the Fighting Irish’s last four non-conference games.

Pick: Go Over 44.5 points (-120)
