The inaugural FedExCup Fall begins this week with the Fortinet Championship at Silverado Country Club in Napa, California. The tournament will be the first of seven events that will determine the 125 players who will earn exempt status into full-field events in 2024. Tournament play begins on Thursday, September 14th, and concludes on Sunday, September 17th.

Max Homa will try to win for the third year in a row when he tees it up this week. Homa would become the first golfer since Steve Stricker at the John Deere Classic (2009-11) to win the same tournament three consecutive years in a row.

The Fall series will include the same benefits as Regular Season tournaments, with added drama for players sitting outside the top 70 in the FedExCup. Players in the top 50 following the conclusion of the TOUR Championship can still play in the Fall Series but have already secured full status for next year. Players ranked from 51-70 have also clinched their cards but will battle to improve or hold their position to get into the first two Signature Events of 2024.

Silverado Country Club (North Course)

The North Course was the original 18-hole golf course that opened for play in 1955. Famed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. re-designed the layout in 1966, the same year the South Course was added to the property. In 2011, Johnny Miller put the North Course through a second re-design, lengthening the course by 250 yards, widening the fairways, repositioning the bunkers, and giving the tee box a fresh look.

Playing as a par-72, the North Course stretches approximately 7,123 yards. Since last year, the routing of the course has changed, with the holes 1-7 and no. 18 remaining the same and the rest re-routed.

Fortinet Championship Field

Homa headlines the field that includes him and Ryder Cup teammate Justin Thomas. Thomas finished the Regular Season ranked no. 71 in the FedExCup Standings, just missing out of the playoffs by a few points.

In total, there are six golfers who finished inside the top 50 teeing it up this week. Joining Homa are Cam Davis, Sahith Theegala, Andrew Putnam, Brendon Todd, and Eric Cole.

Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson and Vice Captain Stewart Cink are in action. Cink won this tournament back in 2020, the first of two victories for Cink within a year.

Other notables in the field this week include Matt Kuchar, Webb Simpson, Joel Dahmen, and Kevin Kisner.

Fortinet Betting Favorites

Homa (+700) enters the week as the betting favorite as he tries to make it 3-straight wins at Silverado. The 32-year-old comes in ranked seventh in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Thomas (+1400) falls right behind Homa as he looks to find his form in his final tune-up before the Ryder Cup. The two-time major champion had a shaky Regular Season with only three finishes inside the top 10.

Theegala (+1800), Davis (+2200), and Stephan Jaeger (+2200) round out the Top 5. Theegala and Jeager are looking for their first PGA Tour victories of their careers.
