Game five of a Western Conference Second Round series is set for Friday night when the Edmonton Oilers visit the Vegas Golden Knights. These teams have split the first four games of the series, with each team winning one game on the road, and we now have a best of three series to see who advances. Below is my NHL pick for the Edmonton Oilers vs Vegas Golden Knights.

Edmonton Oilers vs Vegas Golden Knights Betting Pick

The Pick: Edmonton Oilers -130

This game will be played at T-Mobile Arena at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Why Bet the Edmonton Oilers:

✅ Edmonton has been good the past month having won 15 of their last 19 games played.

✅ On the road, the Oilers have won 10 of their last 12 games away from Edmonton.

✅ Vegas has lost five of their last six home games against the Oilers.

Edmonton Oilers Riding High Off a Game Four Win

Edmonton were hit in the mouth with their game three loss, but they bounced off the ropes and threw a haymaker of their own in game four. The Oilers were in a must win situation and they dominated a Vegas Golden Knights team that looked shell-shocked in the first period.

In the game four win, the Oilers scored three goals in a seven-minute stretch to lead 3-0 after the first period. Edmonton scored the only goal of the second period to grab a four-goal advantage heading into the final 20 minutes. Vegas scored six minutes into the third period, but that was all they could muster on offense all night and could never really make the Oilers sweat.

Nick Bjugstad, Evan Bouchard, Mattias Ekholm, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all scored in the game four win. Six Oilers notched at least one assist on the night.

The Vegas Golden Knights Have Been Confusing

Vegas were played off the ice in game four, but they will be happy getting back to Vegas with the series tied at two. The Golden Knights have taken home ice advantage back and are just two home wins away from making the Western Conference Finals.

In the game four defeat, Nicolas Roy scored the only goal for Vegas and he was assisted by William Carrier and Shea Theodore.
