Week 13 Sunday Night Football brings the AFC West showdown from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, so we’ve prepared the best Broncos vs. Chiefs betting pick along with the latest odds update on Bookmaker Sportsbook

The Chiefs search for their 12th consecutive victory over the Broncos. Kansas City is a huge 10-point home fave for Sunday’s clash, while the totals are listed at 47.5 points.

The Broncos shut down the Chargers to get back on the right track

The Denver Broncos are back in the playoff hunt after winning three of their previous four contests. They are coming off a 28-13 victory to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12, upsetting the odds as 3-point home underdogs.

The Broncos held the Chargers to 72 rushing yards. They picked off Justin Herbert twice, and Pat Surtain’s 70-yard pick-six made it 28-7 midway through the fourth quarter. On the other side of the ball, Melvin Gordon had 17 carries for 83 yards, while Teddy Bridgewater went 11-of-18 for 129 yards and a TD.

Bridgewater suffered a shin injury and had to make a brief exit during the last weekend’s clash against the Chargers. He’ll be ready to go Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium, but Melvin Gordon (shoulder, hip) is listed as questionable.

The Chiefs shoot for their fifth straight W

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming fresh off a bye, searching for their fifth win in a row. Back in Week 11, they beat Dallas 19-9 in another strong defensive display, as the Chiefs have allowed only 47 points over their previous four outings.

Kansas City is now yielding 22.7 points per contest (tied-13th in the NFL) on 364.4 total yards (23rd). The Chiefs’ defense has improved a lot after some serious struggles in the first seven weeks of the season.

Andy Reid’s boys limited the Cowboys to 276 total yards. They allowed only 82 rushing yards while picking off Dak Prescott twice. On the other side of the ball, Patrick Mahomes completed 23 of his 37 passing attempts for 260 yards and an interception. Tyreek Hill had nine receptions for 77 yards, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire posted 12 carries for 63 yards and a TD in his first appearance since Week 5.

Trends:

Denver:

  • 1-4 ATS in the last five games against the AFC

Kansas City:

  • 9-2 ATS in the last 11 games against Denver

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs Pick

The Chiefs hope to stay on the winning path and continue with a strong defensive performance. Their offense has a lot of room for improvement, and the Chiefs could easily explode following a bye week. Andy Reid is 21-11 ATS in his career when he has an extra week to prepare his team, so I’m backing the Chiefs to extend their dominance over the Broncos.

Kansas City is 11-0 SU and 9-2 ATS in its last 11 contests against Denver. Edwards-Helaire’s return is a huge boost for the Chiefs’ offense that will have to attack the Broncos both on the ground and through the air.

Pick: Take Kansas City Chiefs -10.0 at -110

The Total:

I’ve mentioned the Chiefs’ turnaround on the defensive side of things. They should continue with a strong performance against the Broncos, who score 20.7 points per game (21st in the NFL). Denver, on the other side, allows only 17.8 points per game (3rd), so I’m not expecting a high-scoring affair Sunday in Kansas City.

Only one of the Chiefs’ last six games has produced more than 44 points in total. Also, none of the Bronco previous five tilts have seen more than 46 points on the scoreboard.

Pick: Go under 47.5 points at -110
