The UFC is back yet again this weekend after a record-breaking Noche UFC event last week where there were tons of great fights. Now in the APEX this Saturday night, the lightweight division is showcased in the main event when the #6 contender Rafael Fiziev takes on #7 ranked Mateusz Gamrot.

Along with this high-level main event bout, there are also multiple interesting matchups on the undercard that are worth tuning in for and even betting on. Let’s take a closer look at the main event and a few key fights to see how we can bang the book this weekend.

Main Event – Fiziev vs. Gamrot

The headlining bout on Saturday night will be this lightweight matchup between two of the highest-skilled fighters on the entire UFC roster. Both Fiziev and Gamrot have had storied careers in Europe before coming to the UFC, and now they have proven to be two of the best in the world.

Both of these guys are fighters who have had trouble finding fights in the top 15 because of how bad of a matchup they are for most of the division. Now, they have the chance to see who is the better man in a quiet UFC APEX octagon.

In terms of the betting odds, Fiziev is getting the nod as the betting favorite with -155 odds. This fight will most likely close on Saturday at closer to EVEN odds, as it should. Both of these guys have a special skill set that could easily turn them into world champions in the future.

Stylistically, Fiziev comes from a Muay Thai and kickboxing background where he was very decorated in both sports–including a 39-8 kickboxing record before transitioning to MMA.

Gamrot is the bigger fighter and even though he has very high-level striking skills, he is arguably most dangerous when he decides to wrestle offensively. Go back and watch his fight with Dairush if you want to see some of the most impressive grappling scrambles you can find in the UFC.

After briefly breaking down this fight, the prediction for this main event bout is that Fiziev will get his hand raised. It’s just very tough to bet against Fiziev right now in his prime and after making adjustments from his loss to Gaethje.

Fiziev’s wrestling defense is very solid and if he can keep the fight on the feet and be safe on the ground when it goes there, he is going to be able to land some heavy shots on the feet. But don’t forget, this fight should be looked at as 50/50 odds and a coin flip.

Other Key Fight Picks

Other than the main event, we have plenty of interesting bouts to bet on. Let’s briefly talk about a few free betting picks on this card in the UFC APEX.

In the co-main event, Bryce Mitchell looks to bounce back from his first career blemish and he is set to take on UFC veteran and fan-favorite, Dan Ige. Ige is a very tough fight for anybody in the featherweight division, but the wrestling attack from Mitchell is too good to bet against when he’s standing in front of anybody outside the very top of the division.

Another interesting fight will be between TUF 29 champ Bryan Battle and AJ Fletcher in the welterweight division. Battle looks like a lot to handle since his move down to welterweight. His size and power with his clean striking abilities make him the pick to make in this matchup.

Lastly, an underdog pick to make is Tim Means over Andre Fialho. Fialho is one of the most fun fighters to watch and Means is a crafty veteran. Means is coming off of three-straight losses and needs this win to keep his job in the promotion. The wild style of Fialho will leave him open for counters from Means all night.
