Every team in the NFL has now played at least one preseason game, and fans have gotten a chance to look at the rosters of each team. While you can’t necessarily take much away from just one preseason game, there are some things that stood out.

The NFC North Division was always going to be wide open heading into the 2023 season, and the betting odds would suggest that. After just one preseason game, though, it’s time to make the case for the Chicago Bears to be NFC North champions.

You always want to look for value when betting on NFL futures, and that’s exactly what you will find with this wager.

A Look at the Odds

The Green Bay Packers have controlled the NFC North for the last few years, but that’s no longer the case when looking at the betting odds. While most divisions are going to have a clear betting favorite, the odds in the NFC North are much closer than in other divisions.

Here is a look at the current betting odds to win the NFC North at BetOnline:

  • Detroit Lions +150
  • Minnesota Vikings +260
  • Green Bay Packers +325
  • Chicago Bears +420

The odds suggest that the Detroit Lions are the betting favorites to win the NFC North, and they have not been in this position in a long time. After that, it is the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers that appear to be battling it out for a chance to take down the Lions.

The Chicago Bears have betting odds set at +420, and that’s going to provide plenty of value if you are going to wager on them. Those odds are simply too low as well, and you should expect those to change in a big way at some point.

Every Team Has Flaws

When you are trying to break down each team in a division, you have to look for potential flaws that can impact a shot at winning a division title. The Chicago Bears are certainly a team with some flaws, but they are going to be able to overcome those more than the other teams.

The Detroit Lions might be the betting favorites to win the NFC North Division, but this team has never proven that it can get it done. Detroit was a disaster on defense a year ago, and they continue to make mistakes on offense.

The Minnesota Vikings still have Kirk Cousins at quarterback, and he always seems to let them down. Minnesota made some interesting personnel decisions this offseason that are going to impact them in 2023.

Finally, the Green Bay Packers are going to take a big step back without Aaron Rodgers leading the offense. Green Bay can believe in Jordan Love as much as they want, but he’s just not going to be as good as Rodgers.

Bears Will Be Explosive

If the first preseason game is any indication, the Chicago Bears are going to be extremely explosive on offense this season. Justin Fields had a pair of touchdown passes in that game, and all he did was throw some screen passes and let his playmakers do the work.

Fields is also one of the best playmakers in the league, and you should expect him to have some huge games this season as well. There are still some question marks on that defense, but the Bears are going to be able to outscore most opponents all season long.

Get some great value and bet on the Chicago Bears at +420 to win the NFC North Division title.
