The biggest game in college football awaits us on Monday, January 9, and it will take place in Los Angeles, so make sure you don’t miss out on the best Horned Frogs vs. Bulldogs betting pick and odds.

Ohio State and Georgia will be battling for the national title when they meet at SoFi Stadium. The Bulldogs are -12.5 favorites on BetDSI Sportsbook, while the total is set at 63 points. These non-conference rivals will face for the first time since 2016.

Horned Frogs upset Michigan to make the finals

The No. 3 TCU Horned Frogs (13-1-0, 10-3-1 ATS) will get a chance to fight for their first national title since 1938 after upsetting the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines 51-45 in the playoff semi-final. The Horned Frogs were up since the opening quarter and never looked back. They had a 21-3, 34-16, and 41-22 lead throughout the tilt, and although Michigan managed to cut a deficit to 41-38 early in the fourth, the Horned Frogs scored ten points to get to a double-digit lead again. In the end, TCU deservedly secured a victory.

Max Duggan completed 14 of 29 passes for 225 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. He added 57 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on 15 carries, while Emari Demercado exploded for a career-high 150 yards and a score on 17 attempts. Quentin Johnston posted a game-high 163 yards and a touchdown on six receptions, while Taye Barber also scored a receiving TD. Defensively, Dylan Horton was rock-solid with career-high four sacks, while Millard Bradford led the team with eight tackles.

RB Kendre Miller is hampered by an unknown ailment, and it is unclear if he will be healthy enough for the National Championship game versus Georgia.

Bulldogs came from behind to beat Ohio State

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (14-0-0, 7-7-0 ATS) managed to erase a 14-point deficit twice to come from behind and defeat the No. 4 Oregon State Buckeyes 42-41 in the college football playoff semi-final. The Bulldogs entered the final 15 minutes trailing 38-24, but rallied the troops and scored a game-winning touchdown in the last minute of the tilt to secure a victory. Now, Georgia has an opportunity to defend its title and fight for the fourth national title in the program’s history.

Stetson Bennett completed 23 of 34 passes for a career-high 398 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. Although he collected -18 yards on seven carries, Bennett did score a rushing touchdown. Kendall Milton also scored a rushing TD, while Kenny McIntosh posted a game-high 70 yards on five attempts. Arian Smith received three passes for a career-high 129 yards and a score, while Kenny McIntosh and Adonai Mitchell were also on the receiving end of Bennett’s TD passes. On defense, Christopher Smith led the team with eight tackles.

TE Darnell Washington is hindered by an ankle injury, leaving his availability for the National Championship versus TCU in question.

Trends:

TCU:

  • 4-0 ATS in the last four non-conference games
  • 10-3-1 ATS in the last 14 games overall
  • 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine games following an ATS win

Georgia:

  • 2-6 ATS in the last eight games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game
  • 0-4 ATS in the last four non-conference games

TCU Horned Frogs vs. Georgia Bulldogs Pick

I do believe the Bulldogs are slightly better and will manage to defend their title, but the Horned Frogs will put up a fight and cover here. TCU has the fourth-best offense in the country that averages 41.2 points per game, but it’s not going to be easy against the second-best defense in football that allows just 12.8 ppg. That defense didn’t help Georgia a lot in the previous game as the Bulldogs allowed 41 against Ohio State, but I don’t think they will surrender 40+ points again. Still, the Horned Frogs will get their chance to do damage as they have a top-30 pass and run offense. Georgia will probably win, but I don’t think it’s going to be a two-possession game.

Pick: Take the Horned Frogs at +14.5 (-133)

The Total

The Bulldogs will have to display a much better defensive performance if they want to limit the Horned Frogs and win the title. They are experienced enough to know how to do it after keeping Alabama to 18 points in the last year’s National Championship game. We know that defenses win championships, so I don’t think we will have a wild, high-scoring affair as we did in both semi-finals. Under is 5-0 in the Horned Frogs’ last five games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game, while Under is 5-1 in the Bulldogs’ previous six bowl games.

Pick: Go Under 64.5 points (-130)
