The action in the NCAAB continues with intriguing conference duels such as this on Sunday, January 22, and here you can get the best Beavers vs. Golden Bears betting pick and odds.

Oregon State is desperate to avoid the seventh consecutive loss when they face California at Haas Pavilion. The Golden Bears are -3.5 favorites on Bovada Sportsbook, while the total is set at 125.5 points. These Pac-12 rivals met two times last year, and the Golden Bears won both games.

Beavers succumbed to a disappointing defeat at Stanford

The Oregon State Beavers (7-12, 9-9-0 ATS) opened the season with three wins in a row, but the roses weren’t red for them since then as they are now on a six-game losing skid. The most recent defeat came to the Stanford Cardinal on the road in what was one of their weakest offensive displays of the campaign. The Beavers scored just 46 points in a blowout 67-46 loss to the Cardinal, shooting a miserable 34.1% from the field. Stanford was superior in rebounds (38-26), and assists (15-6), while the Cardinal forced 17 turnovers and committed nine on the other end.

Oregon State had only one player in double figures in this massive loss. Sophomore forward Glenn Taylor Jr. led the team with 11 points. The Beavers’ second unit produced just eight points opposite Stanford’s 25, which was one of the biggest reasons for such a big loss.

C Choi Marial is out of the lineup with an ankle injury, and there is no timetable for his recovery.

Golden Bears were powerless against Oregon

The California Golden Bears (3-16, 8-11-0 ATS) responded to a 12-game losing streak to open the season with three wins in four games, but they returned to losing ways. The Golden Bears are on a three-game losing run, and the most recent defeat came at home to the Oregon Ducks. California allowed 59.6% from the floor to the Ducks and shot just 40.0% in return, while the visitors made nine three-pointers opposite California’s four. In the end, the Ducks celebrated an easy 87-58 victory.

Freshman forward ND Okafor led the Golden Bears with ten points off the bench. None of his teammates manages to score double figures in this pathetic loss, which is not something we see every day. The starting five combined for 24 points, while four of Oregon’s starting five scored 11+ points.

G Jarred Hyder (back) and G Jalen Celestine (ACL) are out indefinitely, while G Devin Askew (foot) is questionable to feature on Sunday against the Beavers.

Trends:

Oregon State:

  • 1-5 ATS in the last six games played on a Sunday
  • 0-18 in the last 18 games on the road

California:

  • 10-1 in the last 11 games when playing at home against Oregon State
  • 7-2 ATS in the last nine games played on a Sunday
  • 13-5 ATS in the last 18 games played on a Sunday when playing at home

Oregon State Beavers vs. California Golden Bears Pick

California won 11 of the previous 12 H2H duels at home, which is the biggest reason I am backing the Golden Bears in this one. Let’s face it, both teams are struggling at moment, and this game is hard to predict as it could go either way. However, I am going with the hosts because of the tradition. Oregon State is slightly better in offense and defense, but the Beavers are without a road win for more than a year, and that’s why I am going with California on Sunday.

Pick: Take the Golden Bears at -3.5 (-110)

The Total

Even though they didn’t show it in their recent respective games, I am backing both Oregon State and California to score 60+ in this one. That was the case in four of the last five H2H encounters, and considering I am a big fan of betting on Over when it comes to lower totals, I am backing Over here because of that hunch. The total has gone Over in 13 of California’s last 17 games against Oregon State, while the total went Over in five of California’s previous six games at home.

Pick: Go Over 125.5 points (-110)
