On Sunday NBA playoff betting action will continue when the Washington Wizards play host to the Indiana Pacers at 8:00 ET on TNT inside the Verizon Center. This will be Game 4 of this seven game series with the Pacers leading 2-1 after a dominant win on Friday night.
The Pacers have finally begun playing like the team that went 56-26 SU and secured the East’s No. 1 seed during the regular season with a pair of wins to take the lead in this series. On Friday they got an 85-63 win over the Wizards in front of a home crowd in Washington D.C. that headed for the exits much earlier than expected. Indiana F Paul George had a big night scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds in the win. Roy Hibbert woke up in Game 3 as he had been quiet in the first two games he put up 14 points and led the defensive effort with five boards and three blocks. If Hibbert decides he wants to play well the Wizards have almost no answer for him on the inside and that will become a huge factor in this series. If you’re a Pacers bettor, you’ll love to know that they are 8-0 ATS following a game where they gave up 75 points or less.
The Wizards scored 63 points on Friday which was their lowest point total ever in a playoff game. If they want to stay in this series they can’t afford to have games where they shoot 33 percent from the floor and shoot just 11-of-21 from the foul line. Washington G Bradley Beal was one of just three players scoring in double figures as he put up 16 points. John Wall added 15 points and six assists, but that was nowhere near enough as the bench added just eight points. The Wizards are just 1-2 SU at home in these playoffs and they must figure out a way to give the home crowd a victory in this one. In the regular season they scored 100.7 points per game as a middle of the road offensive unit. Wall is this team’s leader as he averaged 19.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game this season. Their success in this game will depend on his ability to take the ball inside and make plays to get Indiana’s big men in foul trouble.
The Pacers have been quite the Jeckyll and Hyde team to follow since around mid-season where they began to fall apart. Friday’s performance really showed what they are capable of doing defensively when they’re on the same page. We expect to see a repeat effort from the Pacers in this game as they will take a stranglehold on the series. The ‘under’ is 5-1 in the L/6 meetings between these two and Indy’s defense is a big reason for that stat as they are 4-2 SU in those games holding Washington to an average of just 79.5 points per game.Indiana 84 – Washington 81
