The NHL is giving us a busy night on Saturday, November 19, and even 15 games, including this inter-conference duel in Florida, so make sure you get the best Flames vs. Panthers betting pick and odds.

Calgary continues with the Eastern Conference road trip when they visit Florida at FLA Live Arena. The Panthers are -131 moneyline favorites on BetDSI Sportsbook, while the total is set at 6.5 goals. These inter-conference rivals have met twice last season, and each time, the home team recorded a win.

Flames returned to losing ways in Tampa

The Calgary Flames (7-7-2-0, 4-12 ATS) snapped a seven-game losing skid with a pair of victories over Winnipeg and Los Angeles at home but opened a six-game road trip with a 4-1 defeat to the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was the fourth consecutive road loss for the Flames, who are currently in 9th place in the West with 16 points.

Calgary had 40 shots opposite Tampa Bay’s 24 but managed to score only one goal through Elias Lindholm in the final period. Jacob Markstrom didn’t have the best of games as he registered just 20 saves. The Flames have three players who lead the team with 14 points so far this year. Nazem Kadri (G 7, A 7), Lindholm (G 7, A 7), and Tyler Toffoli (G 6, A 8) are the top offensive producers up to this point.

Jacob Markstrom (6-4-2) will be hoping for a better display as he starts at the goal against Florida on Saturday. The 32-year-old is allowing 3.02 goals per game this season with a .887 SV% and no shutouts.

D Oliver Kylington has been activated from the injured reserve list with a personal issue, but it is unclear when he will return.

Panthers lost to the Stars after an abysmal first period

The Florida Panthers (9-7-1-0, 5-12 ATS) conceded a season-high six goals in a 6-4 home defeat to the Dallas Stars. The visitors scored four goals in the opening period and the Panthers couldn’t recover in time to avoid a loss even though they responded with three goals in the second period.

It was a disappointing night for goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who was taken off after the first period and only seven saves with four goals allowed. Sam Bennett impressed for Florida with three assists, while Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe each chipped in a pair of points. This year, Tkachuk leads the Panthers with 22 points (G 6, A 16). Verhaeghe follows him with 18 (G 11, A 7), while Brandon Montour has 17 points (G 4, A 13).

Sergei Bobrovsky is probable to start between the sticks against the Flames on Saturday. The 34-year-old is allowing 3.46 goals per contest this campaign along with a .895 SV% and without shutouts.

LW Anthony Duclair (Achilles) is out indefinitely, while C Aleksander Barkov (illness) is questionable to play on Saturday against Calgary.

Trends:

Calgary:

  • 2-8 in the last ten overall
  • 0-4 in the last four road games
  • 0-5 in the last five vs. Eastern Conference rivals

Florida:

  • 4-1 in the last five after allowing five goals or more in their previous game

Calgary Flames vs. Florida Panthers Pick

Florida scored at least three goals in six of the last seven games, while Calgary conceded 3+ in nine of the previous ten games. That said, I expect Tkachuk and co. to have a solid offensive outing in this one and exploit Markstrom’s poor form as he allowed 3+ goals in seven of his last eight starts. Bobrovsky is also not in good form this season, but on this occasion, I am going with the Panthers who did have a better offense and are playing at home. Calgary is struggling on the road thus far.

Pick: Take the Panthers to win (-131)

The Total

I mentioned Markstrom’s numbers of late, but when it comes to Bobrovsky, he is also having issues this year. Bobrovsky conceded 3+ goals in eight of his last nine starts, and in a combination with Markstrom’s bad form, that’s an excellent recipe for a high-scoring affair. Over is 11-3 in the last 14 H2H meetings, while Over is 5-2 in the previous seven H2H duels in Florida. The H2H history is also helping in predicting Over in this encounter, so we’re going with a minimum of seven goals here.

Pick: Go Over 6.5 goals (-110)
