An interleague battle gets underway Friday night when the Boston Red Sox (26-24, 11-13 away) visit the Arizona Diamondbacks (29-21, 14-10 home). Boston is above .500 but well out of first place in the tough AL East. Arizona has been a pleasant surprise this season and are just 1.5 games back of first place in the NL West. Below is my MLB pick for the Boston Red Sox vs Arizona Diamondbacks.

Boston Red Sox vs Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Pick

The Pick: Dbacks

This game will be played at Chase Field at 9:40 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Why Bet the Arizona Diamondbacks:

✅ Arizona has been in good form having win four of their last five games played.

✅ The Diamondbacks have played well against the AL East, winning seven of their last nine games.

✅ Boston has lost four of their last five games played.

Boston Is on a Losing Streak

Boston has not have a great West Coast trip as they head into this weekend series. The Red Sox ended their weekend in San Diego with a loss and were swept to start this week by the Angels. Boston needs to get it going if they want to be playing meaningful baseball in the summer.

Chris Sale is set to make his 10th start of the season and he has had a poor first two months. Sale, now 34 years old, has a 5.01 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 50.1 innings pitched.

Rafael Devers is having a good start to the season in the power department as he leads the Red Sox with 13 home runs and 44 RBIs. Masataka Yoshida is batting a team high .299.

Arizona Had a Good Road Trip

Arizona enjoyed their time in Pennsylvania as they left with four wins in six games. The Diamondbacks were close to ending their trip with a sweep in Philadelphia, but they gave up a lead in the ninth inning and lost in the 10th. Still, it’s a been a great start for Arizona this season and they are right in the thick of the NL West race.

Brandon Pfaadt is going to make his fifth start of the season and he has not had a good time so this year. The righty has a 7.65 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 20.0 innings pitched.

Christian Walker is having a nice start to the season as he leads the Diamondbacks with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is batting a team high .317 on the season.
