REAL MADRID

Los Blancos are twelve-time European champions and the only team who managed to beat the UEFA Champions League for two times in a row, while they’ll try to improve this magnificent record and retain the Champions League trophy for the third consecutive season. Two years ago, they won the crown after beating the city-rival Atletico Madrid 5-3 on penalties, but in the last season’s final, they dominated over Juventus with a convincing 4-1 victory. Real Madrid had a poor season in the Spanish La Liga, finishing at the third spot of the table, 17 points behind the champions Barcelona, but another victory in the Champions League would compensate all losses from the domestic league.

After finishing at the second spot of the UEFA Champions League Group H table behind Tottenham, Los Blancos met the mighty Paris SG in the Round of 16, surprisingly beating the Parisians in both legs of the matchup, 3-1 at home and 2-1 at Parc des Princes. In the Quarter-Finals, Real Madrid has eliminated Juventus 4-3 on aggregate thanks to a penalty kick in the dying moments of the second leg, while in the Semi-Finals they were pretty lucky to beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate after a 2-2 draw in front of the home fans, as the Bavarians were arguably a better rival in this clash than Los Blancos.

Cristiano Ronaldo is leading the team with 44 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions, while he’s the Champions League top scorer this season with 15 goals in 12 games. Gareth Bale has scored 19 goals in 38 matches thus far, whilst Karim Benzema has bagged 11 goals in 46 games this season, four of them in eight Champions League appearances. The winger Lucas Vazquez is the team’s top assist-maker with 16 dishes on his account in 53 matches so far. The manager Zinedine Zidane can field his best eleven against Liverpool, as all players are healthy and ready to go.

LIVERPOOL

The Reds are five-time European champions, winning the UEFA Champions League on one occasion in 2005 when they overcame AC Milan on penalties after a legendary battle. Liverpool is certainly the most pleasant surprise of this season’s UEFA Champions League, as rarely who could expect to see them in the Final, but the Reds have shown some remarkable displays along the way, while their manager Jurgen Klopp has proved how great tactician he is. The Reds finished their English Premier League campaign at the fourth spot of the table, way behind the champions Manchester City, but the fans will forget it quickly if Jurgen Klopp’s boys beat Real Madrid on this Saturday.

After finishing at the top of the Champions League Group E table, the Reds faced Porto in the Round of 16, winning the matchup 5-0 on aggregate, while in the Quarter-Final, they’ve beaten Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate, despite they were considered as huge underdogs against the Citizens. The Reds have smashed AS Roma 5-2 in the first leg of the Semi-Finals at home, and after a 4-2 defeat in the second leg on the road, they’ve clinched the place in the UEFA Champions League Final for the 2017/2018 season.

The winger Mohamed Salah will be the Reds’ key player in this clash, as he’s scored 44 goals in 51 appearances this season, also making 16 assists for his teammates. The forward Roberto Firmino is the team’s top assist-maker with 17 dishes in 53 games thus far, adding 27 goals to his name, while the winger Sadio Mane has bagged 19 goals in 43 apps in all competitions. The manager Jurgen Klopp cannot count on the defenders Joel Matip (hamstring) and Joe Gomez (ankle) due to injuries, but all other players should be ready for the kick-off.

Real Madrid vs. Liverpool – Betting Trends and Match Prediction

  • Real Madrid won just one out of their last five games overall along with three draws and one defeat
  • Real Madrid kept the clean sheet only once in their previous eleven games in all competitions
  • Real Madrid has an 8-2-2 record with a 30:15 goal difference in the Champions League this season
  • Liverpool won two out of their last five games overall along with one draw and two losses
  • Liverpool kept the clean sheet in five out of their previous ten matches in all competitions
  • Liverpool has a 7-4-1 record with a 40:13 goal difference in the Champions League this season

While Real Madrid prefers to control the ball in the midfield and create chances through a short-passing game, Liverpool relies on deadly counter-attacks, always trying to play a simple direct-passing game, so the soccer fans and bettors can expect a tremendous game with plenty of scoring opportunities on both sides of the field. Los Blancos are certainly a more experienced team than the Reds, but their fragile defense could be an issue against a quick Liverpool’s frontline, so the Reds surely stand a chance in this match.

I’m backing the over here due to a brilliant attacking potential on both sides, and I believe we’ll see at least three goals in this Champions League Final, while the bettors can check out all odds and lines on BetDSI Sportsbook.
