There will be a ton of skill on display in Super Bowl LIV between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. With names like Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Jimmy Garoppolo, Raheem Mostert, and George Kittle, it seems likely that the game could very well hinge on which quarterback and which skill position players have the best days.
Or, if could come down to the guys that used to wear one bar on their facemasks. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen. Super Bowl LIV could come down to the kickers. It has been a rough season from distance for 49ers kicker Robbie Gould, though he did completely smash a 54-yarder between the sticks to bail Garoppolo out early in the NFC Championship Game when Jimmy G took a bad third-down sack. That had to give Gould some confidence heading into the Big Game.
On the other side, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has been plenty reliable this season. When you think about how SB54 could play out, you think about the game flow. You think about how these teams do on third down. We know that the 49ers have an elite pass rush with four-man pressure. We know that Garoppolo leaves something to be desired and that it isn’t simply a coincidence that the 49ers are the most run-heavy offense in football.
With that all in mind, Brian Blessing sat down in front of the camera and put together a video for us on some of the kicking props for Super Bowl LIV. There are so many prop betting options on the board for the game that it can make your head spin. These are pretty popular because they do require a lot of handicapping to determine how this game will play out.
What will be the longest field goal? How many field goals will there be? Will there be any missed extra points? Which kicker will have the most points? Which team will kick the longest field goal? Will the first kick be a touchback? That is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the kicking props that are available and Brian shared some his thoughts and his favorite kicking props with us in the above video.
