Finally, Cristiano Ronaldo will make his long-awaited Serie A home debut against Lazio who will definitely make the hosts work for three points here. The game between Juventus and Lazio will take place at the Allianz Stadium on August 25th, 2018.
JUVENTUS vs. LAZIO
Three-Way: 1: Juventus -278; X: +400 Draw; 2: Lazio +800 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -1.5: Juventus +104; Lazio -133
Total 2.5 goals: Over -137; Under +110
A 3-2 opening day win at Chievo Verona marked Juventus’ third opening day win in a row – the club’s equal-best run since returning to Serie A in 2007. It was a thrilling clash in Verona that produced a dramatic finish in which Federico Bernardeschi scored a winner in the 93rd minute. The Old Lady deserved to win by a bigger margin as they had 11 shots on target in opposite to Chievo’s two, while they also had a ball possession of 74 percent.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t record a goal or assist and the fans are eager to see his qualities on this one, but the -175 odds on CR7 to score anytime are a bit low and unworthy of taking a risk. Backing Ronaldo to score the first goal of the game at +225 or to score two or more at +240 is a much more bet, so you should consider one of them.
- Juventus was the best home team in Serie A last season, winning 16 out of 19 home matches
- Juventus scored 45 and allowed just eight goals at home in 2017/18
- Juventus scored at least two goals in seven out of the last eight games at home in the league
The Eagles suffered a home loss to Napoli in the opening game of the season despite having a 1-0 lead thanks to Ciro Immobile who scored in the 25th minute. However, the visitors responded through Milik, while Lorenzo Insigne gave Napoli a 2-1 lead and helped them to extend a seven-game unbeaten run against Lazio.
Ciro Immobile opened his account against Napoli, and he was Serie A’s top scorer last term with 29 goals, so if anyone can hurt the rock-solid Juventus’ defense, it’s surely Immobile. Bonucci and Chiellini are playing together for several years, but they weren’t that good against Chievo, so if they managed to score twice past them, backing Immobile at +187 to score is not a bad bet at all.
- Lazio was the top scoring side in Serie A last season with 89 goals (2.34 per contest)
- Lazio registered 12 wins out of 19 away matches (W12, D4, L3) in 2017/18
- Lazio was also the top scoring side on the road last year with 44 goals in 19 matches (2.31 per game)
Juventus won eight out of the previous ten H2H encounters, but the Eagles were victorious in the last two meetings at the Allianz Stadium, scoring five goals in the process. Juve scored two or more in nine out of the last ten against Lazio at home, and although even eight out of the past ten duels didn’t produce goals on both ends, Lazio showed they can score in Turin in the last two visits. Backing Juve to win is not worth of risk while playing them on the -1.5 spread might come back to haunt you, so my suggestion is both teams to score and you can double your stake.
MY PICK: Both teams to score YES (+100)
