As we head into Week 6 of the 2023 college football season, this is about the time in which conference races really start to heat up. Even though most leagues have only had one or two conference games played, you can really start to get a feel for how the races are going to play out.
Betting on NCAAF futures is always a good option, and there is still plenty of time to make a bet on those markets. Some conference races appear to be decided at this point, but that’s not the case in every conference throughout the country.
Here is a look at three NCAAF Conference bets that you should consider making at this point in the season.
Drama in the Big 12: Wildcats are a Must Bet at +900
The Big 12 Conference currently has a clear betting favorite in the Texas Longhorns at -145, but things can change quickly in this league. Texas has already scored a big win at Alabama, but the real test will come when they are dealing with conference teams.
Week 6 of the college football season is when the Red River Showdown is set to take place, and both Texas and Oklahoma will be looking for a monster win. Even if the Longhorns are able to survive this game, they are still struggling to find the defense to really compete for a conference title.
Taking the Kansas State Wildcats at +900 is a solid bet to make, as things are going to get interesting in this league at some point. Texas is not going to survive the tough schedule, and now is the perfect time to get some value.
Betting Odds Suggest Big Ten is Wide Open
The Big Ten Conference is going to be won by a team from the East Division, and that really boils down to just three teams. The Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Penn State Nittany Lions all have a shot, and this is going to be a great finish.
Michigan is the current betting favorite at +150, and it’s no surprise to see them in that position. The Wolverines have been dominant up to this point, but they still have to beat the Ohio State Buckeyes to win the league.
Everyone appears to be down on Ohio State for some reason, but now is the time to strike, as they have the odds set at +200. Penn State is also in the mix at +250, but they have some flaws that are eventually going to do them in this season.
It’s all going to come down to the Michigan and Ohio State game later this year, and it will be the Buckeyes that reign supreme in that game. Take the Buckeyes at +200 at Bookmaker as they claim the Big Ten Championship.
Ducks Looking to Upset the Odds in Pac-12
The Pac-12 Conference appears to be the best league in the country this season, and that’s not something that usually happens. This league is full of great quarterbacks, and that should lead to some great battles throughout the season.
Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans are betting favorites to win the Pac-12 Conference at +230, but this is going to be a wild finish for the rest of the season. You could actually go about six different ways if you wanted to bet on the Pac-12, but there is just one team that appears to be better than the others.
That team is the Oregon Ducks, and they have what it takes to win the Pac-12 Conference this season. Bet on the Ducks to get the job done, as they are able to get past the rest of the teams in this talented league.
