NCAAB – TRENDS OF THE DAY

The second day of the first round in this year’s March Madness is in front of us, as next 32 teams lock horns in order to get 16 survivors for the next round. Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles and Omaha are the battling grounds before Final Four starts in San Antonio, and the fans are from these cities have really been blessed to witness yet another festival of the fastest basketball in the world. Today’s matchups are the “crème de la Mont” of 2017-18 NCAA season and as usual, you can check every single one of them here. Still, we’ve managed to do the job and select a number of most revealing tendencies and determine exactly eight directions in which we would like you to go. Let’s take a closer look.

Here are a couple of most interesting duels today: Providence (21-14) vs. Texas A&M (20-12), Marshall (24-10) vs. Wichita St. (25-7), Butler (20-13) vs. Arkansas (23-11), Kansas State (22-11) vs. Creighton (21-11), Bucknell (25-9) vs. Michigan State (29-4), MD Baltimore County (24-10) vs. Virginia (31-2), Florida State (20-11) vs. Missouri (20-12) and New Mexico St. (28-5) vs. Clemson (23-9).

ATS TRENDS

  • The Aggies are 7-3 in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.

The Midwest matchup between New Mexico State Aggies and Clemson Tigers favors the Tigers at 5.0 points, giving the Aggies who are also 5-2 ATS in last seven neutral site games an ATS edge that could also go straight up. The Tigers on the other side are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five NCAA Tournament duels. Pick the Aggies.

  • The Spartans are 2-8-2 in their last 12 games overall.

The Michigan State Spartans don’t look very confident lately, and the 14.5 ATS line that favors them against Bucknell Bison who is 5-1 ATS in their last six games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 is set too high. Pick the Bison.

  • The Bulldogs are 20-5-2 in their last 27 NCAA Tournament games.

Butler Bulldogs will lock horns with Arkansas Razorbacks, the team against who they should have an ATS and straight-up edge. The Bulldogs are also 5-2 ATS in last seven non-conference games while the Razorbacks stand at 3-8 ATS in last 11 duels vs. Big East.

  • The Thundering Herd are 6-1 in their last seven neutral site games.

Wichita State Shockers are named as 12.0 points favorites in the matchup against Marshall Thundering Herd, but this line is a bit over exaggerated. The Shockers are 0-6 ATS in last six games overall while Marshall stands 4-0 ATS in last four overall.

  O/U TRENDS

  • Under is 8-3 in Tigers last 11 overall games.

Very strong low-scoring potential comes from the matchup between Florida State Seminoles and Missouri Tigers as Seminoles stand at 1-4 O/U in last five non-conference showdowns.

  • Over is 15-6 in Retrievers last 21 games overall.

Even though they are facing arguably the best defense in college basketball Virginia Cavaliers, MD Baltimore County Retrievers have proved that they can score in bunches against any opponent. They are also 6-0 O/U in last six neutral site games while the Cavaliers stand at 4-1 O/U in last five games overall.

  • Under is 7-1 in Wildcats last eight games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

Another matchup in which no team comes out as a strong favorite features Kansas State Wildcats and Creighton Bluejays, but both squads have accentuated low-scoring tendencies. The Wildcats are also 5-11-1 O/U in last 17 games overall while the Bluejays stand at 2-6 O/U in last eight neutral site games.

  • Over is 13-3-1 in Friars last 17 non-conference games.

The matchup with the strongest high-scoring tendency today comes at the end of our list. The Providence Friars who are also 3-1-1 in last five Friday games and Texas A&M Aggies who are 7-3 O/U in last 10 games overall are the perpetrators so pick Over.
