NCAAB – TRENDS OF THE DAY
Slowly but certainly we’re getting back to business as usual in the “Trends of the Day” segment as the number of scheduled matchups is getting back to its normal state. National Invitation Tournament, College Basketball Invitational, and NCAA Tournament are featuring duels today and you can check every single one of them here. On the other side, you can let us d the business and present you with eight solid directions in which we would like you to go today by examining all 12 duels that are on the menu. Today, we’ll also see two ranked teams in action for the first time since the Conference Tournaments ended so let’s take a closer look.
Here are a couple of most interesting duels today: N.C. Asheville (21-12) at USC (23-11), Rider (22-9) at Oregon (22-12), St. Bonaventure (25-7) vs. UCLA (21-12), Southern Louisiana (22-11) at St. Mary’s (28-5), Hampton (19-15) at Notre Dame (20-14), Boston College (19-15) at Western Kentucky (24-10), Vermont (27-7) at Middle Tennessee St. (24-7) and Wagner (23-9) at Baylor (18-14).
- The Blue Raiders are 17-5 in their last 22 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
The NIT first-rounder between Middle Tennessee St. Blue Raiders and Vermont Catamounts should go the Blue Raiders way who are also 6-2 ATS in last eight games following a straight up loss. The 6.0 ATS line shouldn’t present any problem for them against the Catamounts who are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight up loss.
- The Hilltoppers are 8-2 in last 10 non-conference games.
The NIT upper right bracket duel between WKU Hilltoppers and Boston College Eagles features the 5.0 ATS line favoring the Hilltoppers who are also 4-1 ATS in last five games vs. Atlantic Coast while the Eagles stand at 1-4 ATS in last five non-conference games. Pick the Hilltoppers.
- The Fighting Irish are 2-9 in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
The 22.0 ATS line that favors the Fighting Irish in the NIT first round matchup against Hampton Pirates is a bit too high, especially with the number with cold ATS trends that Notre Dame features against respectably weaker teams.
- The Lions are 8-1 in their last nine games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
Another NIT first-rounder between the top and bottom seeded team features unrealistically high ATS line that makes it a mismatch for the “underdog” team. The St. Mary’s Gaels who are 1-6 ATS in last seven games overall are squaring off with Southern Louisiana Lions at 15.0 ATS line. Pick the Lions.
- Over is 11-1 in Seahawks last 12 games following a straight up loss.
The first round matchup in the lower left bracket of the NIT between Wagner Seahawks and Baylor Bears holds a strong high-scoring potential as the Seahawks also stand at 15-5-2 O/U in last 22 overall games. The Bears on the other side are 6-1 O/U in last seven games following a straight up loss. Pick Over.
- Over is 23-9 in Bonnies last 32 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
The First Four matchup in this year’s NCAA Tournament between St. Bonaventure Bonnies and UCLA Bruins also has a strong high-scoring potential as the Bruins stand at 4-1 O/U in last five non-conference games. Pick Over.
- Over is 8-0 in Broncs last eight games following a straight up loss.
The high-scoring tendencies continue in another NIT first-rounder between Rider Broncs who are also 6-0 O/U in last six games following an ATS loss and Oregon Ducks who are 9-4 O/U in last 13 non-conference games. Again, pick Over.
- Under is 6-0 in Trojans lat home games.
The USC Trojans will host N.C. Asheville Bulldogs in the first round of the NIT and the trends suggest that this matchup should definitely go Under in Totals. Pick Under.
