NCAAB – TRENDS OF THE DAY
The fanciest month of the year when it comes to the college basketball is finally here, and as usual, we’re bringing you exactly eight in our opinion, most significant active trends of the day. Every single one of the today’s 60 duels on the menu you can check out here, which includes second-round showdowns in Big Ten and regular-season finales in some other conferences. There are also a couple of matchups that feature top-25 ranked team as an opponent but no H2H dues between those rivals. The madness is on the way so let’s take a closer look.
Here are a couple of most interesting duels today: Oregon St. (14-14) at Washington (19-10), Hawaii (16-11) at UC Davis (19-9), Stanford (16-13) at Arizona (22-7), Cincinnati (25-4) at Tulane (14-14), Rutgers (14-18) vs. Indiana (16-14), WKU (22-7) at Middle Tennessee St. (23-5), Virginia (26-2) at Louisville (19-10) and Northwestern (15-16) vs. Penn State (19-12).
- The Nittany Lions are 12-3-1 in their last 16 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
The Big Ten Conference matchup between Northwestern Wildcats and Pen State Nittany Lions favors the Lions at 5.5 points and in our opinion, Penn State should wrap this one up and advance further. They are also 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the Wildcats stand at 1-5 ATS in last six overall games.
- The Hoosiers are 9-1 in their last 10 games following a straight up loss.
The second-round duel in the Big Ten Tournament between Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Indiana Hoosiers should go Indiana’s way. Rutgers did stage an upset against the Golden Gophers but this is probably as far as they can go this season.
- The Bearcats are 6-1 in last seven games following an ATS loss.
The ATS line set at 13.5 favoring the Cincinnati Bearcats against Tulane Green Wave might be a little high but it still shouldn’t present any problems for the high-flying Cincinnati team that is also 4-0 ATS in last four meetings with Tulane.
- The Cardinal is 8-1 in last nine matchups vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
Unlike in the duel before, the ATS line (8.5) here is definitely set to high if we take into the consideration every applicable segment in the matchup between Arizona Wildcats and Stanford Cardinal. The Cardinal is on the ATS winning streak lately against stronger teams while the Wildcats currently stand at 1-6-1 in last eight overall games.
- Under is 51-22-1 in Cavaliers last 74 overall games.
We’re back in the business as usual in Virginia Cavaliers’ matchups as we once again vote for the “Under” option in the game that involves the best defense of the league. Today we have an extra reason because they’re squaring off with the Louisville Cardinals who are 5-20-2 O/U in last 27 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
- Under is 13-3 in Blue Raiders last 16 games following an ATS win.
Another strong low-scoring potential comes from the matchup between WKU Hilltoppers and Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders as both teams feature a number of these kinds of tendencies. The Blue Raiders are also 2-8 O/U in last 10 home games while the Hilltoppers stand at 1-4 O/U in last five overall.
- Under is 20-8 in Aggies last 28 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
The matchup between the UC Davis Aggies and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors also hold a strong low-scoring potential. The Aggies are also 12-25 O/U in last 27 home games while the Warriors went Under in five of last seven Thursday duels.
- Under is 23-5 in Huskies last 28 conference matchups.
The Oregon State Beavers and the Washington Huskies don’t feature a single high-scoring trend applicable to their today’s clash and obviously, we’re putting our money on Over.
