NCAAB – TRENDS OF THE DAY
The Poll’s rankings for the final week of regular season schedule are here and there haven’t been many siftings at the very top with only Xavier and Villanova switching spots in the top-five. Kansas made the biggest leap forward in the top-10 and now they find themselves at No. 8 spot while the defending champions, North Carolina Tar Heels continue to climb up, starting the Week 17 at No 9. Still, only three ranked teams are meeting with their opponents today, including only the Tar Heels from top-10. There are 26 total matchups on the menu today, and you can check every one of them here. On the other side, if you want us to do the biz for you, continue reading and we promise you won’t regret it.
Here are a couple of most interesting duels today: Tennessee (21-7) at Mississippi State (21-8), Florida (18-11) at Alabama (17-12), Missouri (18-11) at Vanderbilt (11-18), Oklahoma State (16-13) at Iowa State (13-15), St. Joseph’s (13-15) at Rhode Island (23-4), Miami-Florida (20-8) at North Carolina (22-7), Auburn (24-5) at Arkansas (20-9) and Oklahoma (17-11) at Baylor (17-12).
- The Sooners are 0-8 in their last eight road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
The Oklahoma Sooners are riding a very cold aforementioned ATS trend at the moment and there is no reason for us to ignore it, especially when they’re visiting the Baylor Bears who are 6-2 ATS in last eight games overall. Pick the Bears.
- The Tigers are 13-3 in their last 16 games following an ATS loss.
The Auburn Tigers are known for bouncing right back after an ATS loss and that will probably be the case today. They are also 7-0 ATS in their last seven games following a straight up loss and they are squaring off with the Arkansas Razorbacks who are 1-5 ATS in their last six home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
- The Rams are 8-1 in their last nine home games.
The Rhode Island Rams are one of the best positive stories of the season, and today they’re hosting the St. Joseph’s Hawks against who they definitely hold both straight up and ATS edge, especially if we take into the consideration the fact that the home team is 5-2 ATS in last seven meetings between these two foes.
- The Volunteers are 10-3 in their last 13 road games.
The matchup between Tennessee Volunteers and Mississippi St. Bulldogs should be a very close and interesting one but the ATS edge here goes to Volunteers thanks to the fact that the Bulldogs are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home meetings with Tennessee.
- Over is 12-3 in Tar Heels last 15 home games.
The North Carolina Tar Heels against Miami-Florida Hurricanes matchup holds probably the biggest high-scoring potential of the day. The Tar Heels are also 12-3-1 O/U in last 16 games following an ATS loss while the Hurricanes stand at 6-1 O/U in last seven duels following a straight up win.
- Over is 20-5-1 in Cyclones last 26 conference games.
Another matchup that should definitely go Over when it comes to the Totals segment is the one between Iowa State and Oklahoma State. The Cyclones are also 6-1 O/U in last seven home games vs. a team with a losing road record while the Cowboys stand at 4-0 O/U in last four showdowns following a straight up loss.
- Over is 7-0 in Commodores last seven games following a straight up loss.
We continue to support the overall high-scoring trend on Tuesday with another matchup with strong high-scoring potential. Besides aforementioned tendency, the Vanderbilt Commodores are also 5-1 O/U in last six home games while the Missouri Tigers went Over in four of last five games following a straight up loss.
- Under is 13-3 in Crimson Tide last 16 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
Not to be too one-sided, we’ve saved one “Under” game for the end of the list. The matchup between Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide should go Under in Totals so don’t miss it.
