NCAAB – TRENDS OF THE DAY
The behemoth of days when it comes to the number of matchups on the schedule, Thursday is here and we’re back with business as usual. There are 69 total showdowns on the menu today and everything you need to know about every single one of them can be found here. There are plenty of interesting duels all over the country today with most of the conferences being represented with at least one matchup. The end of regular season is nearing and it’s time to show the full potential or get trampled by those who will. Let’s take a closer look.
Here are a couple of most interesting duels today: North Florida (13-17) at Jacksonville (13-17), Wisconsin (13-16) at Northwestern (15-14), Purdue (24-5) at Illinois (13-16), UCONN (13-14) at Cincinnati (23-4), Gonzaga (25-4) at San Diego (17-11), Houston (21-5) at Memphis (16-11), Arizona (21-6) at Oregon St. (13-13) and Pepperdine (4-24) at St. Mary’s (25-4).
– The Bulldogs are 2-9 in their last 11 games overall.
The trend of ATS lines set too high in Gonzaga Bulldogs’ matchups continues against the San Diego Toreros (12.0) who are very successful lately in bringing down those kinds of lines. They are 6-1 ATS in last seven games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-1 ATS in last six duels with the team that has a winning straight up record. The Bulldogs on the other side feature a plethora of negative trends in this segment, consequence of lines set too high.
– The Huskies are 0-5 in their last five road games.
Even though the 19.0 ATS line favoring the Bearcats looks to be too high, it’s actually a mismatch for strong Cincinnati team against this year’s struggling UCONN Huskies. Don’t let the high number full you and pick the Bearcats.
– The Wildcats are 11-5 in their last 16 games following a straight up loss.
The Northwestern Wildcats keep an ATS (-3.5) edge against the visiting Wisconsin Badgers with no further questions asked. Pick Northwestern.
– The Dolphins are 1-5 in their last six home games.
The Jacksonville Dolphins have been having a lot of problems lately considering the ATS segment and today we’re going to use this tendency of theirs in a matchup against North Florida Ospreys who are 4-1 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a losing straight up record. Pick North Florida.
– Under is 10-1 in Gaels last 11 home games.
In the matchup between Pepperdine Waves and St. Mary’s Gales everyone is expecting a blowout but having in mind Gaels recent flops, this could end up being a very slow and low-scoring duel with a great potential for going Under in Totals, especially when we take into the consideration the fact that the Gaels doesn’t have a single high-scoring trend that is applicable to today’s game.
– Over is 9-4 in Beavers last 13 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
The ATS line in the duel between Arizona Wildcats and Oregon State Beavers naturally favors the Wildcats at 6.0 but I’ll advise you to skip that bet today because Arizona team gained very unpredictable attributes during last couple of weeks. Instead, you should use the high-scoring potential this game has and pick Over.
– Under is 6-1 in Cougars last seven games following an ATS win.
Another strong low-scoring potential comes from one of the most interesting duels tonight. Besides the aforementioned trend, the Houston Cougars are also 0-4 O/U in last four games overall while the Memphis Tigers stand at 2-7 O/U in last nine home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
– Under is 9-2 in Boilermakers last 11 games following a straight up win.
We’ll conclude our today’s O/U list with another game with a strong low-scoring potential. The Purdue Boilermakers are also 3-12 O/U in last 15 games vs. Big Ten while the Illinois Fighting Illini stand at 9-19-1 in their last 29 conference duels. Pick Under.
