NCAAB – TRENDS OF THE DAY

It’s the St. Valentine’s Day, as our love of picking the right picks for your blooms. Wednesday’s brings us 40+ matchups on the menu and I’m not sure that there will be much love on the court as regular season schedule slowly enters its finale. In the following text we’ve identified exactly eight directions in which we suggest you go today, but if you want to examine every single matchup, you can do it here. Besides Mountain West and Southland Conference that features most of today’s duel, there are a couple of Atlantic 10 Horizon League showdowns with a promise of great fun so let’s take a closer look.

Here are a couple of most interesting duels today: Virginia Tech (18-7) at Duke (20-5), Clemson (20-4) at Florida State (17-8), Villanova (23-2) at Providence (16-9), Dayton (11-13) at George Mason (11-14), Illinois (12-14) at Indiana (14-12), Georgia Tech (11-14) at Wake Forest (9-16), Kentucky (17-8) at Auburn (22-3) and Seton Hall (17-8) at Xavier (23-3).

ATS TRENDS

  • The Musketeers are 25-9 in their last 34 games overall.

The ATS line set at 4.5 that favors the Xavier Musketeers at home against Seton Hall Pirates should be an easy peasy for the home team, especially when we add the fact that the Pirates are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games into the equation.

  • The Tigers are 6-1 in their last seven games vs. Southeastern.

This is another similar situation as in the pick above with strong home team squaring off with relatively poor road squad. The Auburn Tigers who are also 5-1 ATS in their last six home games are hosting Kentucky Wildcats who are 0-4 ATS in their last four duels overall and the line set at 8.5 shouldn’t’ present a problem.

  • The Hoosiers are 8-0 in their last eight home games.

The Indiana natives are on a mean home-court streak when it comes to ATS and they’re hosting the Fighting Illini who are 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a straight up loss. Pick the Hoosiers.

  • The Friars are 17-7-1 in their last 25 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.

The No. 2 ranked team, the Villanova Wildcats are coming to Providence in order to reach the 9.0 points ATS line that favors them against the Friars and I don’t think that they’re up to it. The Wildcats are 2-5 ATS in last seven H2H matches and the underdog is also 5-2 ATS in last seven meetings. Pick the Friars.

O/U TRENDS

  • Over is 19-7 in Yellow Jackets last 26 games following a double-digit loss at home.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets got clipped at home by Duke on Sunday, 80-69, and the history suggests that they like to score in bunches in the game that follows, making the matchup against Wake Forest Demon Deacons who are 4-1 O/U in last five games a mismatch.

  • Over is 8-1 in Flyers last nine games following a straight up loss.

The Dayton Flyers and the George Mason Patriots, two teams that don’t share a single low-scoring tendency are set for a tip-off at EagleBank Arena and obviously, our main direction here is Over. The line is set at reasonable 147.0 points and there shouldn’t be any problems for these two squads to reach it.

  • Under is 33-15 in Seminoles last 48 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.

The first game with strong low-scoring potential comes at the No. 3 spot on our O/U list as Clemson locks horns with Florida State. The Seminoles are also 18-37-1 O/U in last 56 home games vs. a team with a winning road record while the Tigers stand at 3-7 O/U in last 10 games following an ATS win.

  • Over is 17-7 in Blue Devils last 24 overall.

Wednesday’s opponents, the Virginia Tech Hokies, and Duke Blue Devils both prefer Over in Totals lately as the Hokies stand at 7-3 O/U in last 10 games overall. Pick Over.
