NCAAB – TRENDS OF THE DAY
Friday brings us only 10 matchups on the menu that is by far the smallest number this week. Still, it didn’t stop us from picking exactly eight strong pointers that are listed below. On the other side, if you want to perform some kind of a more thorough analysis, you can do it here. The most Friday’s duels feature Mid-American and Ivy League teams with only one ranked team locking horns today, but let’s not forget that unexpected success often comes from the unexpected sources.
Here are a couple of most interesting duels today: Toledo (17-7) at Miami-OH (13-11), Columbia (6-13) at Yale (9-13), Davidson (13-9) at Rhode Island (19-3), Cornell (8-11) at Brown (10-9), Pennsylvania (16-6) at Dartmouth (4-15), Princeton (11-10) at Harvard (10-11), Minnesota (14-12) at Indiana (13-12) and Kent St. (12-12) at Ball St. (15-9).
- The Golden Flashes are 7-0 in their last seven games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
Even though it doesn’t look like it on the first glance, the matchup between Golden Flashes and Cardinals is actually an ATS mismatch in favor of Kent St. according to both teams’ tendencies. The Golden Flashes are also 14-5-1 ATS in their last 20 conference games while the Cardinals stand at 1-7 in last eight overall matchups.
- The Hoosiers are 7-0 in their last seven home games.
The Indiana Hoosiers are on a mean home streak ATS, and they’re hosting the Golden Gophers who are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. Pick Indiana.
- The Rams are 20-8-1 in their last 29 games overall.
The ATS line in the matchup between No. 19 Rhode Island Rams and Davidson Wildcats favor the Rams at 7.0 which is actually very reasonable considering the fact that the game takes place in Kingston. The Rams are also 11-3 ATS in their last 14 conference matchups while the Wildcats stand at 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
- The Red Hawks are 6-1 in their last seven games following a straight up loss.
The Toledo Rockets are entering the matchup against Miami (OH) Red Hawks as favorites at 3.0 points but I don’t think that they can even pull out a straight up win because the Red Hawks also stand at 5-1 in ATS in last six games overall. Pick the Red Hawks.
- Over is 11-4 in Crimson last 15 vs. Ivy League.
This Friday’s Ivy League matchup between old foes, Princeton Tigers, and Harvard Crimson holds a strong high-scoring potential. Besides aforementioned tendency, the Crimson are also 4-0 O/U in last four home games following three or more consecutive road games and 6-2 O/U in last eight games following an ATS loss. The Tigers on the other side are 5-1 O/U in last six road games and 8-2-1 O/U in last 11 conference duels. Pick Over.
- Under is 7-1 in Big Green last eight vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
The second matchup on our O/U list contains the duel between Pennsylvania Quakers and Dartmouth Big Green that according to latest trends should go Under in Totals. The Quakers are 2-5 O/U in last seven games overall while the Big Green also stands at 1-4 O/U in last five overall.
- Over is 7-1 in Big Red last eight games following an ATS loss.
The Cornell Big Red travels to Providence in order to square off with the Brown Bears in a matchup that also has a strong high-scoring tendency as both teams like to score big recently. The Big Red is also 5-1 O/U in last six road games vs. a team with a winning home record while the Bears are 4-1 O/U in last five games overall.
- Under is 8-2 in Bulldogs last 10 games overall.
We’ve kept the matchup with the strongest low-scoring potential for the end of our list. The Columbia Lions and the Yale Bulldogs that will battle today don’t feature a single high-scoring tendency that is applicable to this showdown so go Under.
