Listeners of The Bettor’s Box get a dose of baseball betting insight and analysis twice a week here at BangTheBook. This show, recorded on Mondays and Thursdays, goes so far below the surface to help handicappers make money betting on baseball. Host Adam Burke uses sabermetric analysis to highlight players and teams that are of interest to bettors. This show covers a lot of topics and dishes out a lot of excellent information in a short amount of time. With picks for the night of the show and thoughts on the series and games coming up on the horizon, The Bettor’s Box is a show that everybody needs to incorporate into their handicapping breakdowns.

Listeners of the show can also hit Adam up on Twitter at his handle, @SkatingTripods, to talk baseball betting, topics for the show, or any other sport at BangTheBook. He’s always willing to discuss baseball, as well as the other sports. Don’t hesitate to ask him for more clarification about sabermetrics or about the observations that he has seen in previous games.

Going Beyond the Box Score is a good way to uncover things that may impact teams and betting lines. Adam goes Beyond the Box Score on every show to find tendencies, trends, wagering angles, and more about some of the series that just wrapped up. On this Thursday edition, the Pittsburgh Pirates sweep of the San Francisco Giants was under the microscope. What is going on with the Pirates that has been so successful? Are the Giants going to continue this letdown after a hot month of May?

Two other series were covered, including the New York Yankees sweep of the Seattle Mariners. What worked so well for the Yankees in this series? Is Adam ready to buy in on the Yankees yet? What is wrong with the Seattle Mariners? Could their trade to acquire Mark Trumbo be a difference maker? Also, what’s wrong with the Baltimore Orioles? They were a subject of this segment as well.

Interpreting and understanding line moves is very important for every baseball handicapper. That’s why Adam takes the time to go Down the Lines and examine the betting market moves that happened earlier in the week. During this segment, he also broke down some of the Thursday lines and dished out his pick for Thursday night’s action.

Combining sabermetrics and daily fantasy, Adam covered 10 different pitchers in-depth on this show to see which ones he thinks listeners should buy and which ones listeners should sell. This was definitely the best segment of the show as it should provide for some future help for listeners when handicapping the games on the schedule.
