After a great weekend of MLB action, Adam Burke was back on the airwaves with the latest edition of The Bettor’s Box. It was the 40th episode of the wildly popular show for this season and was one of the best. There was no shortage of stuff to talk about and the SaberSeminar over the weekend gave Adam something to talk about that should be of interest to a lot of baseball fans and handicappers.

Listeners of the show can also hit Adam up on Twitter at his handle, @SkatingTripods, to talk baseball betting, topics for the show, or any other sport at BangTheBook. He’s always willing to discuss baseball, as well as the other sports. Don’t hesitate to ask him for more clarification about sabermetrics or about the observations that he has seen in previous games.

With another edition of The Gridiron Gambling Report coming your way on Tuesday and possibly a College Football Podcast on Wednesday, we’re looking forward to being your home for NFL and college football betting coverage this season. Even though the football regular seasons are getting closer, there’s still a lot of baseball to discuss and Adam covered some weekend results in his “Beyond the Box Score” segment. The Astros sweep of the Dodgers, the Rangers getting back in the wild card lead, and other important outcomes were all discussed.

Betting line analysis and a check of the market is always important on this show. There weren’t as many line movements as usual over the weekend with the NFL Preseason in action, but there were still some things that were worthy of note. Also, this segment included two picks for Monday night, with a side and a total for listeners of the podcast.

Baseball is an ever-changing game and adapting is important. It’s a lot like sports betting in that regard. Adam had a lot of thoughts on some concepts that were discussed at the SaberSeminar this weekend and also had some additional thoughts on stuff that has crossed his mind lately. The purpose of this show is to educate and inform, just like every podcast at BangTheBook. Do the things that Adam talked about resonate with you? Don’t be afraid to hit him up on Twitter and let him know.

Applying handicapping concepts to playing daily fantasy baseball can be a good way to get an edge over the competition. That was the tip for Monday’s show. What should bettors and contest players be looking for when they set their lineups?

Finally, with a lot of key series coming up over the next seven days to wrap up the month of August, Adam previewed some of the series coming up early this week and also took an advance look at the weekend with no second recording of The Bettor’s Box on Thursday this week. Listeners may get a show on Wednesday, but the focus may shift to college football for Wednesday’s podcast.
