The Bettor’s Box was back today as Adam Burke once again hit the airwaves to discuss baseball betting. The playoff picture is very cloudy in the American League as we hit the final month of the season and that means that there was a lot to discuss from what happened this week. The show returned after a brief hiatus due to travel and scheduling conflicts, but it didn’t take long to remember why this is the premier MLB betting podcast in the industry.

Listeners of the show can also hit Adam up on Twitter at his handle, @SkatingTripods, to talk baseball betting, topics for the show, or any other sport at BangTheBook. He’s always willing to discuss baseball, as well as the other sports. Don’t hesitate to ask him for more clarification about sabermetrics or about the observations that he has seen in previous games.

Don’t forget to check out our other excellent podcasts. With college football season starting on Thursday night, this week’s College Football Podcast with Adam Burke and Kyle Hunter is a must for any serious college football bettor. On this week’s edition of The Gridiron Gambling Report, Adam Burke and Cole Ryan talked division futures, Super Bowl picks, and some surprise teams for the 2015 season. Also, keep an ear out for Football Fridays With Joe, our new Friday morning football betting podcast with professional handicapper Joe D’Amico.

Getting back to baseball, this show had the regular format that began with a look Beyond the Box Score. The Texas Rangers scored a big series win over the San Diego Padres to maintain their grip on the second Wild Card spot in the American League. What are Texas’s chances to keep that spot and get into the one-game playoff? Also discussed during this segment were the series wins of St. Louis and Toronto, along with some thoughts on their opponents.

Going Down the Lines is a way to look at the perceptions of teams and oddsmakers on a weekly basis. There were some interesting changes to the line moves this week, as there were more line moves on lines at reasonable prices. For a while, the only numbers moving around in the market were the heavy favorites. That changed a little bit this week. Thursday’s podcast pick was also included in this discussion.

Adam has always been transparent with listeners and that’s a theme of all of our podcasts. On this one, Adam had some very candid thoughts about the month of September and the struggles that he has had in the past. He also talked about how to approach the betting market and also the daily fantasy market during the month of September.
