We’ll finally look at a couple of sides for the late college basketball games, meaning those that start at 7 p.m. EST or later, as we’ve already looked at the late totals.
Game 666, Duke vs. Notre Dame: The Blue Devils are favored by 8.5 and the total on this one is 143.5. The Blue Devils won both meetings between the two schools this year, winning a relatively close on on the road, 75-69, and then waxing the Irish at home by an 88-66 final, as they hit12 of 20 from 3-point range. Notre Dame can’t match the Blue Devils on offense, but aren’t that far behind on defense and have the ability to keep this one close. The Blue Devils aren’t the greatest foul-shooting team around and if comes to that, the Irish may be able to make up a few points. Will go ahead and take Notre Dame to keep it fairly close and stay under the number, as I have Duke pulling out a 77-72 final.
Game 706, Texas vs. Texas Tech: The Red Raiders are favored by 6.5 and the total is 128.5. Texas has a few player issues, but not so sure they should be such large underdogs in this spot, as I have Tech winning 68-64 and think the Longhorns can keep this one close with their defense. A bit of an anti-public play in this one, as well, although nothing to get too excited about.
Game 743, UTSA vs. Marshall: Marshall is favored by 6.5 and the total is 163.5, as oddsmakers are obviously expecting a fair number of points in this one, as both teams can score. Marshall is better offensively, while UTSA get a bit of an edge on defense. I have this game coming down to the wire, with UTSA actually pulling it out, so will go ahead and take them in this spot.
Game 700, Seton Hall vs. Butler: Butler is favored by 1 and I have Seton Hall winning by 1, so not much of a difference, but think the Pirates can get the win in this one.
Game 762, Chicago State vs. New Mexico State: Interesting that Chicago State is getting some reverse line movement in this one, as NM State opened at 25.5 and have attracted two-thirds of the wagers. I have it 84-60, which is pretty much right on the number, as they line has dropped to 23.5. NM State can pretty much name the score in this one and some bettors are thinking they’ll coast to the win, although not sure I’ll get involved with this one.
