The last time the Skyhawks played, they were blown out by the UNI Panthers, 87-67. UT Martin’s Derek Hawthorne, Jr. finished with 18 points and eight rebounds in the contest. With 12 points and seven rebounds, Jose Perez put together a solid performance for Gardner-Webb. South Carolina had a turnover percentage of 9.2 (better than their season average of 14.9). Gardner-Webb, on the other hand, did a terrific job of making free throws (19-22; 86.4 percent).
Gardner-Webb could have their way on the offensive side of the ball as their upper-echelon offense goes up against one of the worst defenses in the NCAA.
