Nice is hunting a fourth-straight league win in this Ligue 1 encounter, as they take on a high-flying Lille side that is winless in two-consecutive league matches for the first time this season (D1, L1). The game between Nice and Lille will take place at the Allianz Riviera on November 25th, 2018.
NICE vs. LILLE
Three-Way: 1: Nice +160; X: +210 Draw; 2: Lille +200 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread 0: Nice -114; Lille +104
Total 2.5 goals: Over +120; Under -152
The hosts come into this after claiming a fourth away win of the campaign at Nimes in their last outing, a result that also made it three-consecutive Ligue 1 wins without conceding a single goal. If the Aiglons register a clean sheet in this match, it will be the first time since March-April 2010 that any Nice side has recorded four-straight L1 clean sheets.
Patrick Vieira’s side secured three points at Nimes thanks to the second-half goal from Youcef Attal after plenty of excitement in the opening 45 minutes. The hosts missed the penalty in the 5th minute before Faitout Maouassa received the second yellow card, while Nimes’ midfielder Loick Landre earned a straight red card in the 45th minute to make Nice’s life easier in the second 45 minutes.
Patrick Vieira doesn’t have any new injury-related concerns as almost all of his players are available and at his disposal.
- With just three home goals scored to date, Nice remains the joint-lowest scorers at home
- Seven of Nice’s 13 league matches have ended with a 1-0 scoreline either way
- Nice has been shown an average of 2.3 yellow cards per match – the highest in Ligue 1
Lille is in good form, losing just one of their last six Ligue 1 games, scoring at least two goals in half of those. However, Christophe Galtier’s men have lost half of their six away fixtures this campaign (W2, D1, L3), and also failed to find the net on three occasions.
Encouragingly, however, the Lillois do boast the third-best away defensive record in the league, having conceded only seven goals in those six matches. They are without a victory in the last three matches, failing to find the net in two in the process, while they drew the latest L1 match against Strasbourg at home, 0-0.
Christophe Galtier is happy to have all of his players healthy as no new injuries occurred during the international break, so they are eager to snap the three-game winless streak with three points on the road.
- Lille conceded at least one goal in 13 of their last 14 away league fixtures
- Lille’s top scorer Nicolas Pépé has netted eight goals – 62.5% (five) were scored on the road
Nice has an excellent H2H record against Lille as they are unbeaten in the previous 13 duels as Lille’s last victory came in May 2012. Nice’s home record against Lille is outstanding, with the hosts winning 25 of 46 top-flight meetings at the Allianz Riviera (W25, D14, L7 – GF 78, GA 41). They are in a better form at the moment but six out of the last eight H2H clashes ended without a winner, so I am going with a draw on this one.
MY PICK: Draw (+210)
ADDITIONAL PICK: Each of the last six H2H encounters produced goals on both sides including the previous two at the Allianz Riviera and given the form of Allan Saint-Maximin and Nicolas Pépé, I think we will see at least one goal apiece, so I am backing BTTS at -110.
MY PICK: BTTS YES (-110)
