Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks
Saturday, 3:55 pm Eastern FOX

The Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks are already playing against each other for the fifth time this season when they face off on Saturday. The Diamondbacks swept the Rockies last week at Coors Field and outscored them 20-5. "They're not scoring a ton of runs and you'd like to see them get hot after they leave here," Arizona manager Bob Melvin said. "They probably weren't really happy about us beating them three in a row there. They're always a dangerous team regardless; they've swung the bat well in this ballpark. So it's definitely quite a bit of work any time they are in town."

Colorado will go with starting pitcher Aaron Cook while the Diamondbacks will counter with Dan Haren. Cook pitched great on Monday, out-dueling Tom Glavine in a great pitchers' duel that the Rockies eventually won 2-1. Cook gave up a pair of hits and a run in the first inning, but retired 20 of the next 21 hitters he faced, allowing only one walk the rest of the way. His sinker induced 15 groundouts from the Braves.

Haren made his first start in Chase Field on Monday against the Dodgers and was solid, allowing three runs over six innings. Haren allowed three runs in six innings in his first start but the bullpen blew the game against Cincinnati.  Haren is officially 1-0 on the season with an ERA of 3.00.  Cook is 0-1 on the year with an ERA of 3.46.

The Diamondbacks are in the midst of a long stretch against National League West teams. They swept the Rockies last week, swept the Dodgers this week and now face Colorado again, San Francisco in a home and home series, San Diego in a home and home series and a road series at Los Angeles.  With how well Arizona is playing it could set them up as the team to catch in the National League West if they continue to play well within the division.

Arizona and Colorado went under in two of the three games last week at Colorado. Three of their four playoff matchups last season also went under the total including both games at Arizona. In the nine regular season meetings between the two teams at Arizona last season, the Rockies won five of the nine games and the Over was 5-3-1.
