New York Mets +110

Atlanta Braves -120

Total 7-1/2 -105

The New York Mets will go for the sweep tonight over the Atlanta Braves as these two NL East rivals wrap-up a three-game set at Turner Field. Game time is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. (ET) and it will be available on MLB TV.

New York followed up Tuesday night’s 4-3 victory as a 122 road underdog with a 4-0 shutout as a 123 dog in Wednesday’s Game 2. The win pushed the Mets to .500 on the year at 34-34 but they are still 8.5 games in back of Philadelphia in the division. They are 15-17 at home and 19-17 on the road.

A steady dose of run support along with some solid pitching from its starters has allowed New York to go 7-3 in its last 10 games. The Mets have now scored four or more runs seven times during this stretch. R.A. Dickey will be on the mound tonight for New York. He is 3-7 on the year but 2-2 in his last five starts. He has a 1.37 WHIP and an ERA of 3.98 in 13 starts this season. Lifetime against the Braves he is 1-2 with a 4.40 ERA.

Atlanta’s attempt to catch the Phillies in the East has run into a bit of a snag with three straight losses to fall to 38-31 on the year and five games back. The Braves are 21-16 on the road, but just 1-4 at home in their last five and 17-15 overall.

Jason Heyward returned to the lineup last night after a 15 day stint on the DL with a sore shoulder but Martin Prado remains out with a staph infection, further taxing a lineup that is ranked 12th in the NL in runs scored. Mike Minor will be making his fifth start of the season as he continues to fill in for the injured Brandon Beachy. He is 0-2 so far with a 4.50 ERA and has yet to last more than six innings.

Head-to-head, the Mets have now won five of the last six games this season after losing the first two. The total has stayed ‘under’ in five of the seven games. Look for Braves to snap this losing streak tonight as they find enough offense to avoid the sweep.
