St. Louis Cardinals -110
Baltimore Orioles -110
Total - 9.5o -110
The St. Louis Cardinals will go for the sweep tonight in their three-game interleague series with the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on the MLB Network.
St. Louis came into this series with just one win in its last six games, but is on the verge of a three-game sweep after outscoring the Orioles 11-3 in the first two games. Both games have also stayed ‘under’ the total. The Cardinals are now 43-38 overall and just one game in back of Milwaukee in the NL Central. They are 21-18 at home and 22-20 on the road.
The St. Louis lineup took a major blow when Albert Pujols went down with a broken bone in his forearm, so the 11 runs scored in the last two games is a good sign after it only managed to average 3.5 runs in the previous six.
Jaime Garcia will be on the mound for St. Louis tonight. He is 6-3 this year with an ERA of 3.06. The left hander has just one win in his last eight starts, but has not given up more than three earned runs in his last five.
Baltimore is fading fast in the AL East with just four wins in its last 10 games to fall 11.5 games behind New York with an overall record of 35-42. It is 13-21 on the road and 22-21 at home.
The Orioles hitting has remained fairly steady this season with a .259 team batting average, but their 316 runs scored rank them 10th in the American League. Adam Jones leads the team with 46 RBI and 13 home runs, but is just 1-for-7 in this series so far.
Brian Matusz is slated to get the start for the Orioles. The left hander struggled since coming off the DL and gave up six earned runs on nine hits in just 4.2 innings his last time out. He is 1-3 overall with a 6.85 ERA.
Stick with the Cardinals and the ‘under’ in this one as they grind out enough runs against Matusz to make it three in-a-row over Baltimore.
