After completing a suspended game from Tuesday night, ESPN will pick up the broadcast of tonight's scheduled MLB betting battle between the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins. Tuesday's game was called due to weather issues through the fifth inning of a scoreless game.

Theoretically, manager Joe Girardi is going to send LHP Andy Pettitte to the bump on Thursday night. Pettitte may be asked to eat a lot of innings tonight if the bullpen has to throw a ton of frames to complete the suspended game. He only lasted five innings in his most recent start against Tampa Bay, as he allowed seven runs, six of which were earned in an 8-6 loss. It was the southpaw's first defeat of the year, as he is 5-1 with a 2.68 ERA in 2010. Pettitte had led Yankee bettors to a 7-0 record in his first seven starts. He threw 6.2 scoreless frames against these Twins back on May 15th in a 7-1 victory.

After throwing three straight scoreless outings in April, the month of May hasn't treated LHP Francisco Liriano all that well. He has lost three straight starts and has an ERA of 7.02 in those outings. One of those lousy showings came against Pettitte and the Yanks in that loss back on the 15th in Yankee Stadium. However, this year at home, Liriano has lasted an average of seven innings per start, is 2-1, and has an awesome 2.14 ERA. Manager Rod Gardenhire is likely to be in a similar position with Liriano as Girardi is with Pettitte, as he may be asking his starting pitcher to throw more frames than he is typically comfortable with so to not tax the bullpen.

This is a great price that we're getting on the Yankees in what could be a very, very unpredictable game. Pettitte is worthy of backing as a dog in any spot, and especially considering the fact that the team is 52-17 in the L/69 MLB betting battles with the Twins, taking this type of a price is too good to pass up. Expect to see the Yanks come out on top on Wednesday night.
