After getting beaten in the opening game of this American League East rivalry series, the Tampa Bay Rays will look to get even and beat the MLB betting lines against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night.

The O's flashed some late magic in the first game of the season once again, scoring five runs in the seventh innings to overtake the Rays, who had led for most of the game. It was a typical Baltimore effort, as the offense did just enough in the late innings, and the bullpen was able to hold off any potential rallies. CF Adam Jones got off to a hot start to his campaign, getting three hits, scoring two runs, and knocking in a pair as well. Tonight, it's up to LHP Wei-Yin Chen to get the job done for Manager Buck Showalter. The lefty came out of nowhere last year and was one of the more successful starters for the Orioles. He didn't have the flashiest stuff in the world, but that 12-11 record was deceiving. Chen had a 4.02 ERA, yet he kept control of the ball, posting a WHIP of 1.26. He only went 1-3 last year against Tampa Bay in spite of the fact that he had a 2.97 ERA against it in his five opportunities.

It's not often that the Tampa Bay bullpen really blows up, but that's exactly what happened on Tuesday night in the home opener. LHP David Price did his job, allowing two runs in six frames, but RHP Jake McGee came in and allowed five runs, recording just two outs in the process. The team also managed just sit hits, and the No. 6 through No. 9 hitters combined to go 0-for-11. This is a huge season for RHP Jeremy Hellickson, and he is going to get called upon for the first time this season on Wednesday. Hellickson is expected to be a legitimate No. 2 starter for this team after Price now that RHP James Shields is gone, and this is his first test to prove his value. Last season was a good one for the righty. In spite of his 10-11 record, Hellickson posted a 3.10 ERA, a 1.25 WHIP, and batters hit just .244 against him. It was the second straight very similar season for Hellickson, who is becoming known as a man that is going to figure out how to get the job done and keep his team in games.

Hellickson has already posted six career wins against the Orioles, accounting for almost a quarter of his victories for his career. We think that Tampa Bay is going to get back on track on Wednesday night at home and quickly get over the fact that the opener was one that it let get away.
