The Chicago Cubs are back in action on Friday night in the Queen City, where they will hope to end their four-game losing streak by taking down the Cincinnati Reds.

The Cubs have been horrific offensively over the course of these four losing games. They put up just a total of nine runs in those efforts, and they have spoiled a bunch of relatively good pitching performances, particularly out of the bullpen. RHP Scott Feldman is going to be on the mound for this one, and we have to think that he is going to ultimately come back to reality at some point. The fact that he is 4-3 isn't a big shock, nor is it surprising that he has led his team to a 5-3 record in eight games. However, he has just a 2.19 ERA, and for a man that seemingly every season posts an ERA in the fours or fives, this is borderline insane. Granted, we know that Feldman has pitched well of late, as he has allowed just one run in his last three starts, covering 19.2 innings of work. However, he still isn't a strikeout pitcher, and his 18 walks in 49.1 innings this season is troublesome to us.

The Reds are back at the Great American Ball Park for the first time in 12 days tonight, as they just played six games on the road. They swept series against both the Miami Marlins and the New York Mets, and they did so by putting up great pitching performances. The team posted three shutouts in that stretch, and Cincinnati hasn't allowed more than five runs in a game in 10 straight games. RHP Bronson Arroyo has been red hot over the course of his last two starts, and he is going to hope to continue that on Friday night. The righty has thrown 14.1 innings in a row of scoreless baseball, and he has been insanely efficient in these starts. Arroyo has only averaged just over 13 pitches per inning in his last two outings, and that's the ticket to ultimately winning baseball games and preserving your arm and those of the men in your bullpen.

The Cubs can't hit the ball right now, and Arroyo just isn't letting anyone on base. This isn't a good combination for the visitors by any stretch of the imagination. Feldman seems like a man that is going to ultimately get hit and hit hard in this game. We think that the oddsmakers screwed this one up. Chicago should be at least a +170 underdog as we see it. This is a great price on a good Cincinnati outfit.
