It will be an all California affair in Major League Baseball betting action when the San Francisco Giants meet the Los Angeles Dodgers in the rubber match of a three game series at Dodger Stadium. The Giants will be going for the sweep at 8:00 ET on ESPN2 as they have taken the first two games of the series in dominating fashion.

San Francisco used a four run fifth inning on Saturday to power itself to a 7-2 win over Los Angeles. Third baseman Pablo Sandoval delivered a three run shot in that inning for his first homerun of the season. Catcher Buster Posey also went deep for the Giants for his second dinger of the year. This team seems poised to have an excellent season as it enjoys an early lead in the National League West standings over Los Angeles. Taking the mound on Monday will be No. 2 starter Matt Cain who pitched 5.0 innings on Tuesday striking out two and received a no decision in a 5-4 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Cain is in his 10th season with the Giants and is coming off a season where he started 30 games posting a 4.00 ERA to go with an 8-10 record. San Fran will need to get out early again on Sunday night if it wants to complete a sweep of its rival. Thus far the Giants offense has gotten off to a fast start averaging 6.33 runs per game that is good for second in the league.

Los Angeles will be trying to get its first home win of the season in this game. The Dodgers have had back-to-back outings to forget against the Giants, the first of which included the benching of outfielder Yasiel Puig who missed pregame batting practice on Friday. Puig didn’t have a much better day on Saturday as he was 1-for-4 and picked off of first base after his only hit. Los Angeles is off to a somewhat slow start going 4-3 SU in its first seven games, but it certainly has a lot of expectations to live up to after reaching the NLCS last season. As the primetime lights will shine upon the Dodgers once again it will be pitcher Zack Greinke getting his second start as he got a win in his first start of the year 3-2 over the San Diego Padres on Tuesday. Greinke gave up just two hits, struck out five, and relinquished only two runs in 5.0 innings of work. The Dodgers will need to look for stealing opportunities in this game as they lead the league with eight steals. If they can get that done it will help the offense that is producing just 3.57 runs per game and will help support one of the league’s best hurlers.

The Dodgers are due to have a breakout offensive effort and what better time than Sunday night while trying to avoid a sweep to their rival? We expect to see Greinke shut down this high powered Giants lineup and give his team its first home win of the season.
