An American League West match-up will be featured in Major League Baseball betting action when the Texas Rangers face the Los Angeles Angels Friday night at 10:05 ET at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on FSN WEST. This Friday night game will be the first in a three game series between these two teams.

The Rangers have lost four games in a row and were swept by the Oakland Athletics in three games on the road earlier this week. They were outscored 25-4 by the A’s in that series and were shutout in a 4-0 loss in the first game. Texas has scored 4.17 runs per game to start the season and sit in second place in the AL West just one game ahead of the Angels. On Friday night the Rangers will send right hander Colby Lewis to the mound who has a 4.60 ERA in 15.2 innings of work thus far. Lewis received a no decision in his last start as he gave up three runs in 5.0 innings against the Seattle Mariners as he struck out six batters. Texas will need its offense to step up in this game and get a quality start from Lewis who is 1-1 in his three starts. The ‘over’ is 10-2-1 in the Rangers L/13 games overall and has cashed in three of the L/4 meetings between these AL West rivals. If the Rangers can get some offensive output they will definitely have a chance to get this win on the road.

The Angels just got done sweeping the Cleveland Indians in three games as they outscored them 20-8 and brought their home record to 6-6 SU overall. Albert Pujols is trying to give management their money’s worth as he has hit nine homeruns thus far. Pujols is hitting .279 with 23 RBI’s and 21 runs scored as he is tied for second in the league in homers. Los Angeles owns the league’s top offensive team scoring 5.52 runs per game in this young season. Its defense isn’t bad either, ranking 15th and giving up 3.75 runs per game. The Angels will send left hander Hector Santiago to the hill on Friday as he has yet to win a start to this point. In his last start he lost to the New York Yankees giving up four runs in 4.1 innings pitched. His 4.60 ERA matches his counterpart in this game and makes the ‘over’ even more enticing to take as a straight bet or add to a parlay.

The Angels are hot right now having won six of their L/10 games including taking two of three from the Washington Nationals and sweeping the Indians as we already mentioned. We expect there to be a lot of fireworks in this game as both teams can definitely score some runs. Look for the Angels to score just a little bit more than the Rangers to get their home record above the .500 mark in this one.
